Strength:
Not offensive or fatiguing to listen to- can represent a fair value if you can buy it cheap used.
Weakness:
Removes a lot of the midrange- high frequency "air" is definetely attenuated, not fairly priced (in my opinion). Recently I sold my "reference" interconnect (balanced AudioQuest Anaconda) and needed to put in the old standby, the Monster M950i (2m in length) that I have laying around. To say that I was dissapointed would be an understatement- but, keep in mind that the cable that it was replacing cost about 10x as much. The Monster cable seems to suck out a lot of the midrange... it actually sounded best to me on heavy metal music. I actually enjoy this cable while listening to Slayer or Sepultura- the (apparent) midrange attenuation seemed to make the music somewhat heavier (I mean it made the guitars seem thicker, not heavy as in bass heavy). This cable also has a 'laid back' characteristic. There was a rounding of bass, but it didnt bother me much. Perhaps most notably, this cable raised the noise floor in my system by about 6 to 10db. This Monster picks up a lot of hum, and I have the interconnects no where near the power cords. Anyone buying this cable might want to go to radio shack and also but a couple ferrite clamps (also called RF chokes). I don't consider this interconnect a good value, and the lower end AudioQuest interconnects definetely outperform this one in every way. To sum up... The Monster isn't offensive to listen to, but it doesn't deliver like some other 100$ interconnects do. |

Strength:
Everything.
Weakness:
None. These Cables are great, I've owned them for few years now. Compared with the AQ Viper, they sound almost the same, which is not bad for $100 cables, compared to $200. Don't get me wrong I'm a Big Fan of AQ. They are worth the bucks, nice bass, great high, great resolution, smoothness, easier to hear. Here is my set up for the test, Wadia 860x, Krell KMA-100, Icon Parsec 3-way, Speakers cables:AQ Green HL and Elco Power cables. Happy Listening! Similar Products Used: AQ, XLO. CH. |

Strength:
It made my Dali 800 speakers come to new life, very transparent and dynamic makes a huge sound 3D.Very analytic so in short a good cable
Weakness:
To expensive, and i work better with bi-amp in midrange and tweeter than in bas, But conected to cd it is worth the price i think. And this turbine conectors you have to be careful using or you will end haveing a bitt of stereo equpment in your hand. I think the above saids it all Similar Products Used: Supra EFF-1 less than half the price, but it doesen`t reach all the way to the monster |

Strength:
Built great. It made a very big difference in my Home Theater System. Very strong connectors. I am very, very satisfied with the Monster Cable M950I. I have been using them for about 2 1/2 years and they continue to sound great. I have never had any problems. |

Great cables and build quality, Dont really know what larry is talkig about. Yes they do have that horrible tape to show signal direction, but it is also printed on the jacket of the cable. This is an ecxcellent cable to connect your preamp to your amp. I use them in my front outputs, do to the three way nature of these cables. I have 3 way speakers and these cables do an excellent job in transmitting the highs, mids, and lows seperately. I would look at Kimber PBJ also. Weakness:
not much Good cable, gets out of the way. Not much more to say than that. Many in this price range are comprable--no special deal at this price, but no problems either. |

I started out building my system a couple of years ago. I worked up to some of the more expensive Monster Cable. |

Strength:
good cable overall for the price a really good choice for a budget/mid-fi system. Wont regret. IMPORTANT: as with all components, allow ample burn in time before critical listening. |

Use this between my pre-amp and power amp.1. Nice tight bass. |
