Strength:

Better sound

Weakness:

Should offer 5 ft. option

After going through two other Monster wire offerings, I finally found what I needed. The Monster XP was so-so. so I switched back to the regular Monster cable. But, this time I used the Monster banana plugs with the screw in option (as opposed to clamping or pinching the wire into the connector). The sound improved but the connectors kept popping loose. So, I went to the Monster Z1 cables because of the a recomendation from a salesperson, and because of the reviews on this site. What a difference! The bass response is the most noticeable improvement. I played a recording with a jazz acoustice bass and immediately heard a much more complete sound. On the high end, the violins were distinguishable on the opening cords of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. My only regret is that there is not a five foot option. I run these in a small room and a five foot option would shorten the run of the cables. As it is now, much of the cable sits rolled up on the floor. Finally, while I scoffed at paying top dollar for Monster interconnect cables, I will now be going back an coughing up the extra money.

Strength:

mid high, mid bass, more clarity, clear

Weakness:

none that i am aware

suprised, that is the only word how i descorbe this cable, i can't believe my ears!!! i used to have MIT termnator 2 on my system, and one day was a little bit curious about the good looking monster cable( compare to MIT), first time i hooked up the cable, i was really really surprised, i never expect it will beat my MIT, i called two of my friends which an audiphile person as well, they can point out the difference right away,MIT is a good cable too but it increased the volume for some reason and i dont like that, the bass is boomy, but this Z1 really shocks me, the mid highs come to live!, vocal is close, midbass is incredible, tide and smooth, i am not an audiphile person but i am damn sure this product is better than the MIT, my B&W 804 nautilus really goes 3D, i think i am goint to buy the Z3 and change all my MIT to monster, i cant believe monster made such a good product like this.

my system:
adcom GCD-750
parasound pld-1100
parasound hca-1500
B&W nautilus 804
adcom ace-615

i am thinking to upgrade the preamp to adcom GFP-750
any suggestion or comments?

Strength:

price and performance, excellent mid, high and bass. Definitely have better image and soundstage now.

Weakness:

cheap looking connectors jacket...looks kinda lame.

Went to Best Buy this morning and saw the Z1, thought what the hell might as well give it a try. I'd only swapped out one side and compared it with the original Joe Blow 12 Gauge wire that I'd bought from Car Stereo shop, boy did it suprised the heck out of me!!! I never thought speaker cable can make such big improvement, the high is very detail and clear, mid is define and definitely more "solid", bass is tight, controlled, and accurate. My Acoustic Research AR3 speakers woke up and come to live. You'll have to try it to believe it, you can always return it if you're not completely satisfy anyway. For $79...you can't get any better than these and I'm very happy and satisfied with my purchased as well.

Strength:

Well Shielded, clarity, detail, and focus.

Weakness:

For the price, nothing.

We all know that cables are system specific and these are no exception. These cables can work in budget systems as well as audiophile grade gear. Of course this all depends on your specific system. However, these cables may not work well overly warm sounding equipment 'cause they tend to be on the warm side in my gear. Great cables for the price nonetheless.

Strength:

Clarity

Weakness:

End connector quality

Just wanted to add that I had the Z1 speaker cables for about two months. Definite improvement in sound quality - agree with most things said here. However, the end connectors are just crimped on. I pulled one loose while moving my speaker around & was surprised at how cheaply the end fittings were made. Looking for a brand that solders the end fittings on now.
