Left in system running for two Weeks as suggested by Nordost. The first thing I noticed was the tight, full extended bass. More than I expected! Highs are smooth and very detailed. Sound stage is very layered. I'm very impressed by the overall improvement is music, soundstage and authoritive bass. This is the cheapest upgrade I've ever done. I would imagine that you would need to have very high end components to run with this cable as it is very revealing!Nordost Silver MoonGlo is the one ur looking for!!!!! |

Currently this is the only digital RCA interconnect from Nordost. The built quality is pretty good, at least the locking connectors. As for the cable itself, it is actually as thin as the free RCA interconnects that come with new components. Very unusual (for a high end wire), but Nordost claims of using double silver conductors and twisted teflon jacket so it might justify the rather high price. I haven't tried it for video signal but as a digital cable it performs superb. At least I think I'm getting the most out of my transport. Compared to a LAT Int. D-20, it sounds as if another veil has been lifted. It is more detailed but also harsh on bad recordings. Previously I've been using the LAT as an all around noise filter so the differences make sense. In fact, those are the only differences that I can audibly detect in digital cables. They're either noise filters or good transparent wires. |

Strength:
excellence in digging out details which not many cables are able to
Weakness:
none The moonglo digital cable unearth the details buried by the previous coaxial digital cable I use. Treble, bass and vocal are very well expressed. Although this isn't really a cheap one, but I think the return is worthy because you will hear something that you have never listen before from other cable and construction of the cable is good too. |

Strength:
Clear sound
Weakness:
hides detail, limited bass, occasionally aggressive sound I had the cable for over a year and didn't realize what I was missing. By chance, I installed a Bybee interconnect filter on the Moonglo (only temporarily) and heard a significant improvement. Highs were generally less annoying, the musical presentation less analytical. This prompted me to look for another cable. My search paid off. I am now the proud owner of the Illuminations Orchid, a cable that makes the Moonglo sound broken. And if I'm right, a half meter of the Orchid is similar in price to a meter of the Moonglo. The difference in sound? The Orchid is beautifully detailed and musical, the bass is prodigious and the highs touch the heavens with harmonious grace. The Orchid presents a lush soundscape, richly textured and musical, that the Moonglo simply could not provide in my system. In light of the competition, I simply cannot recommend the Moonglo digital cable. Similar Products Used: Illuminations Orchid |
