Strength:

Provides a good solid connection at a very reasonable price

Weakness:

Fit is extremely tight! When you unplg them you can easily remove the collar from one or more of the connections on the back of your amp, CD player or other equipment. If you buy these, be VERY CAREFUL when installing them, and especially when unplugging them! After they've been in place for a long time, they might as well be welded to the collar of the connection!

Decent cables, but dangerously tight!

Too many to count, ranging from the cheapo connectors that come free with most components, on up to custom-made braided Teflon-coated wires.

Weakness:

I recently Purchased the Radio Shack Fusion Interconnects 3' length. The system is Hi-end Denon receiver and hdcd sacd player. The speakers are JBL Studios. The sound improvement is about 35% . clear/clean Music that was never there until I released it .even old cds come to life now. These are a must for any serious listener

Strength:

Solid audio connection for a good price.

Weakness:

Lack of prestige. No biggie.

Okay, I can't really fault the people who say this interconnect is too tight and too hard to attach and remove. Radio Shack offers no instructions on the package, but you're supposed to unscrew them a little before attaching or detatching them. I found that out pretty much by accident. Anyhow, this is a great cable in every respect. I bought the composite video plus stereo audio version to use with my DVD-A/SACD player and it sounds soooo good. I have run out of hyperbole in describing the quality of DVDa and SACD recordings, and all that amazing sound is coming through perfectly with this cable. Even in 2 channel stereo, the music just sounds more alive. The video this cable provides is fine, although my TV is crap so I can't really comment on that. I believe cable can make a difference in the sound, but a $100 cable doesn't sound like a $100 difference to me. These are $10 at the Shack and absolutely spank plastic stock cables. Strength:

Good results for the price.

Weakness:

None so far.

Ihave a reasonably good system, Tube amp/ pre-amp. good vinyl set-up and better than average cables. I tried to hook up my VCR to my system but got lots of humming. I don't do videos that much so didn't want to spend a lot for interconnects. I tried the R.S. FUSION interconnects for video to audio. They have shieldind and interferience filtering. Much to my pleasure there is now no humming and as a bonus the sound quality is very good. These cables appear to be very well made. I was almost ready to purchase some much more expensive interconnects. Glad I didn't.

I recenty went to up-grade my audio cables for my system (I have been meaning to do this for a while) and did some research on the internet before making my purchase. I was still using the cables supplied by the audio mfg that makes my components (Onkyo Integra integrated amp (105-wts per chan) Harmon Kardon TD-4400, JBL L-80T's, Sony ES tuner and a Sony 5 disc CD player)and I know that is a big no, no when it comes to any serious music listener. I was going to go with Monster Cables Interlink 400 MKII for $39.99 a pair but decided to stop in at my local Radio Shack just to see what they have. I picked up a pair of their Fusion cables and was alittle skeptical about the high end filter on the input end of these cables but figured I would give them a try. I hooked the pair up to my cd player and WOW what a difference. The bass response is tight and the highs are clean. But the best thing about these cables is the stereo imaging which is top notch. Two days latter I did pick up a pair of Monster 400 MKII's just to see the difference. I did not even get the Monster cables home. The Radio Shack Fusions are thicker and seemed to be of better quality (not to mention $15.00 cheeper) so like the nut that I am went right back and returned the Monsters to go and buy to more pairs of the RS Fusion Cables. I am very happy with my system now and would recommend these cables to anyone looking for a great cable at a great price.

Excellent detail, bandwith, soundstage depth and width! Amazing price for the performance. Nice build quality too.

This review is for the Radioshack Fusion Audio (3ft) interconnect cable. I was looking for high quality cables to connect my preamp to my power amps (home theater). Having already tried out the usual overpriced alternatives (you know which ones I mean), I was getting fed up with paying stupid prices for cables. I went to my local Radioshack and picked up 3 sets of the Fusion A/V audio interconnects (3ft). I figured they would be decent sounding, but nothing special (I already had a few sets of the older RS gold interconnects which sound OK, but are on the bright side). I wasn't too sure about the "RF/EMI" filter on the cable (sounds gimmicky to me!) but I figured at the price, why not? I was extremely surprised with the detail, bandwidth, soundstage (in 2 channel mode) of the Fusion A/V interconnect compared to my "other" far more expensive brand interconnect. I checked out the Fusion A/V as a DVD audio interconnect and got the same results. I can't explain what it is, but this cable made the music sound bigger, wider, clearer with deeper, tighter bass and clear highs. I must say that I was extremely surprised, and pleasantly so. I would recommend you try these cables as an alternative to the more expensive brand names. I hope you get the same results I do.

1 meter/3 feet cable. Good for the price, detailed, balanced, good sound stage. But compared to more expensive Monster 400 MKII ($30 for 1/2 meter), it's high is a little blured, too warm, sound stage is less defined.

A definite improvement over generic interconnects. I'm a dj who spends a lot of time transferring my vinyl on to cd. My setup is a pioneer djm600 mixer, gradodj200 cart's on technics turntables, with mackie hr824 monitors. Generally, I think that there is definitely a higher end for audio, but at a certain threshold people are just paying lots of money for fancy products that make a negligible difference. So, for example, for audio interconnects I don't want the cables picking up radio stations and I want it to deliver the sound of my records that doesn't come across as flat. These interconnects do that. No need for kimble, etc. Monitors/speakers and a decent cartridge seem to be where a big difference can be heard. Interconnects just need to be good enough. I agree with the guy who actually tested his cables and spoke to his prof (see a few posts back).

Strength:

Most everything you can ask in a cable, tonal balance, speed, depth, sound stage.

Weakness:

The name Radio Shack...If it were called Cardas Gold Truth Wonder Cable it would sell for $500 and would be the talk of the town

Radio Shack "Fusion" Cables are very, very good cables on par or better than any $300 cable on the market. I have tried all of Kimber even the Selects, D.H. Labs, Cardas, all of Audioquest, even BetterCables.com cables. In my system which is Dynaudio speakers, Aragon 8008BB amp, Anthem Pre2L (tubed) pre amp and Adcom CD player. I prefered the Rat Shack RS Golds over Kimber PBJ and Hero, but they were a little thin in the upper bass, the RS golds were on par with the bottom of the line in the other cables I tested many over $150/meter...the RS Gold about $20 bucks. Next I tried the RS Fusion cables, they were far superior to any high end cable that costs under $300, imaging was right on, tonal balance was just right, bass was tight and full, highs shimmered and were not harsh, vocals were perfect too. Not all cables are the same, and some are better than others but at $35/meter, no way, no how can the high end cables justify the extra $250+ for some copper. As we audio people know, we seek perfection and we are willing to pay the cost for our own persoanl narvana...the cable companies know this so they make us pay, and we do. RS Fusion cables make it so we dont have too, we can still have GREAT sound at a far price. Try them, its RS so you know you can take them back without a problem...unlike the expensive audio saloons where once you buy it your stuck with it and can only exchange. You will not regret it.

Strength:

Price to performance improvement is outstanding.

Weakness:

Like most cables these take about 20 hours of burn in time before they lay down and behave. RCA plugs are very tight and care must be taken when removing them.

First I have never owned expensive interconnects. Second I would assume that most who are considering RS Gold Interconnects are looking to upgrade from those generic interconnects that are packaged with most products or looking for a good interconnect on the cheap. If you are looking for a inexpensive upgrade over stock generic interconnects that will provide a noticable improvement, this is a no brainer. Clarity, soundstage and imaging all show a nice noticable improvement. How do they compare with $100 interconnects? I have no idea. I will say that I have these interconects in 4 different stereo systems (Wife's, Mine and 2 teenage kids) and am delighted in the performance improvement over stock cables. In my system (Jolida JD202A amp, Aperion Audio 502's, Pyle PDSUB 8" subwoofer and First generation Belgium made Magnovox CD player). I am very happy with the performance and see no need to upgrade.
