I agree with the earlier comments on the Silver Bullet 4.0 interconnect and would like to add that the same is true for the Symphony 24 speaker cables. These cables are not cheap, but they are far superior to mass marketed cables of equal or greater cost. Combined with Max's hands-on approach to customer service, his honesty (he talked me out of getting his more expensive model of speaker cable) and his 30-day return/refund policy, if you are in the market for cables, you really owe it yourself to give him a try. All I can say is, having purchased other cables that are not cheap for my CAL-McCormack-BAT-Magnepan (3.5)-REL system (Discovery, Tara, Kimber, Wireworld, MIT, Monster, etc.) Max's cables have made the system really come alive. It is a pleasure to be able to recommend a company so dedicated to value and quality.

Max Kreifeldt, owner and sole proprietor of DLin Audio in Phoenix, AZ (www.silveraudio.com), has produced the most musically transparent interconnect cable I have heard. I have tried for extensive periods cables from Straight Wire, Monster, Audioquest, Tara Labs, Musical Design, Van den Hul, Transparent Audio, and Kimber, in price ranges up to $650, and none of them is the equal to the DLin Audio Silver Bullet 4's. They are a veritable steal at $140 per half-meter and $180 per meter. Prior to my trying them I had used Van den Hul First as my cable of choice for years, and then had moved to the Kimber KCAG, both of which are not cheap. But when I put the Silver Bullets in my systems, the change was noticed even by my wife, who certainly doesn't have a trained ear. When I hooked them into each system, she asked why the music sounded better than she ever remembered it. In listening the two greatest changes I noticed in both my systems (noted below) were (1) a foundation or body to the music that is much closer to what I had experienced in live acoustical musical situations than in previous listenings at home, and (2) high frequency extension without any trace of glare or grain. They image superbly and the bass is second only to the Transparent Audio cables I have tried, which retail for about $550. Midrange and high-frequencies are the best of any cable I have tried in the half-a-grand price range. By selling only through the internet and word of mouth, Max Kreifeldt has been able to keep prices for his premium cables lower than the big companies. They are great. Clearly, five stars. PRIMARY SYSTEM: Hegeman Hapi 2 preamp, Bedini 100/100 1 MEG class A power amp, Van Alstine Omega II CD player, Sonographe SG-3 table w. Grado Signature arm and Goldring Electro II+ cartridge, Digital Phase AP-2 speakers connected with Monster M1 speaker cable, Pioneer RT-707 reel-to-reel w. outboard dbx 150x Pro type I noise reduction, line filtering and protection via a Brickwall Series Mode Surge Filter. Silver Bullet 4 interconnects between everything except tonearm and preamp. SECONDARY SYSTEM: Sonic Frontiers SFC-1 tube integrated, Van Alstine Omega II CD player, Sound Dynamics 300ti speakers (on Sound Design stands)connected with Straight Wire Maestro II speaker cables, line filtering and protection via a Brickwall Series Mode Surge Filter.

I concur with all the positive reviews I've seen about these interconnects.I don't have a lot to compare them too, since my previous cables were
Hitachi. But since I added half meter pairs from the CD player and the
Pre-amp, the improvement has been pleasant. They seem to have added an
octave of bass to my LS3/5A's (miracle), and female voices now have a
soft and silky quality. What I had thought were major room interactions
appear to have been tamed and from top to bottom there appears to be a
consistent frequency response. Nothing jumps out and this is a little
disconcerting to begin with. As Mr Kreifeldt points out these are not
flashy Hi-Fi cables. But everything is there, detail, sparkle, clarity,
smoothness, and they seem to retain this at low levels too. With the
exchange premium, they don't come cheap, but I rationalized they should
last forever, since oxidation will not degrade their performance. I wish
I had bought the one metre sets, but again cost was a factor. Some
judicious rearranging of components was needed to avoid strain on the
beautiful silver plated plugs. Also it took me a while to figure out you
can tighten the connector by screwing down the collar. My ignorance, but
a brief note in the instructions would have saved me some time. Sadly,
this upgrade has initiated the domino effect. I think of all that wonderful
information flowing from my Alchemist Nexus CD player, through a gleaming
silver conduit, and then hitting road blocks in the Musical Concepts
Hafler electronics. I can still live with the speakers, so that's a
blessing. But those Gallo Solo's are awfully tempting. On a humorous note
when I installed them I was initially disappointed. Although the detail was there, they sounded flat and one dimensional. My wife and I listened to them for a few days waiting for the break-in. Not much improvement, so I slipped on the Stereophile test CD. Ahem.....we had been listening in mono for three days. I must have accidentally pressed the button as I installed the cables. In stereo mode they came to life and confirmed the wisdom of my purchase. Sorry for
doubting you Max!

You don't know what you are missing until you've tried the DLin Audio cables. They will give you more of everything, details, better bass, better highs all at an incredible fair price. I am so happy with their interconnects, I am ordering their speaker cables. I've tried interconnects up to $1,000 a pair and they don't sound as good as the DLin cables. An added bonus, Max, the owner of DLin Audio is an honest person to ask for suggestions. DLin Audio is not paying me to say all these nice things, I am just one happy customer.

I purchase two pairs of Silver Bullets 4.0 three months ago. From then until now, I can only say that I am very happy (truly) with the sound and music. They help deliver what I never heard from other cables before.
Clarity, Image, Soundstage is improving drastically and almost like listening to actual music indeed. Highly recommend.

Having read all the reviews posted here, plus the fact that I am looking around for a pair of silver interconnect, the D Lin (now Silver Audio) Silver Bullet 4.0 seems to fit the bill (not to mention price).
The very first impression when I hook up a pair between my Anthem Pre 1L and Bryston 3B-ST is an overall improvement in sonics. This is especially so for the mids to low end, where the entire sonic picture seemed to have solidified. The low end now has greater punch and impact, while the mid is fuller sounding (meatier ?), in terms of vocal and wind instruments like saxophone. The highs are not neglected though and it is as good as it can get from my current system.
I had already wrought improvement in my sound system's sonic when I bought the Illuminations D60 to run between my CD player and DAC, but the Silver Bullet 4.0 further improved it by yet another step.

Overall, the Silver Bullet 4.0 is a very impressive pair of interconnect. The above comment is based on the fact that it is not even burnt-in yet (requires 48 hours, according to the manual), just first impression. Kudos to Silver Audio for creating such a fine piece of equipment, as well as their wonderful assistance and patience.

I have been using the Silver Bullets 4.0 for almost two years and am very happy to see D Lin Audio (Silver Audio) has gained recognition it deserves. I chose the Silver Bullets over cables from Transparent, MIT, Tara Labs, Kimber, ... etc. In today's highly political high-end audio business, it is very rare to find a company like D Lin Audio that still treasures honesty, value and quality.

Now that I have let these cables properly burn in I feel I need to post how I feel about them. These cables are everything that people have been saying. I originally became interested in them when I saw they were one of only 4 cables in the old hall of fame. Luckily for me they are a local company so I was able to drive over and buy a "B-stock" set of 1/2 metter 4.0's. They have recently changed the nylon jacket and the rca connectors, so I got a deal.
A little background of previous cables might be in order. I originaly owned a pair of Monster M-series M550i's. These are actually pretty good, as they are not the Circuit City "interlink" garbage, but real audiophile (entry level) quality cables. I then bought a 1 M pair of Kimber Hero's and thought they were a good improvement, about the best I had heard for pure copper. My next cables were another one from the old hall of fame, a 1 M set of DH Labs silver sonic BL-1 series II cables (from www.wenterprisesnw.com, great prices!) and I was in heaven. My first taste of Silver! Yum! So now being fully infected with the Audiophile virus I had to have what some people consider (and I think rightly so) the best interconnects they have heard, regardless of the money. Yes, better than Kimber KCAG or even $700 KCTG (we aren't talking ridiculous cables like $2500 1 M MIT's). Actually, I consider these to be a bargain compared to the other pure silver cables out there.

The female voice was the real test for the cables. I could "hear" the room (actually a church) carry the singer's voice on Dave's True Story "Sex Without Bodies" cd beautifully. This is my current favorite cd, even though it isn't HDCD (it is, however, a Chesky 24 Bit/ 96 kHz awesome recording, the music is great too!)

The top is more believable now, and the bottom is as good or better than the DH Labs (which are pretty good at bass).

Equipment:

Rotel RCD-971 - CD-Player (same dual DAC's as the Krell KPS 20i and HDCD)
Bryston B-60R - Integrated Amp (with Tara Labs "Missing Link" jumpers)
PSB Stratus Silver - Speakers
Silver Audio Silver Bullet 4.0 1/2 Meter- Interconnects
DH Labs Silver Sonic T-14 - 2 runs of Speaker Cable to bi-wire

Tweeks:
Replaced CD-Player stock feet with Vibrapods (big, HUGE difference)
DH Golden Sound "cones" 3 under Bryston (more to keep level, than for sound)
Audioquest stoplight paint pen for CD edges(sounds stupid, but it actually works!)

Good Listening,

Frank

I upgraded from DH Labs to Kimber KCAG, and enjoyed the sound for awhile. I had hoped the Kimber's would "burn-in" more, but they never did. I loved the detail but felt they where a little bright for me. I then read reviews here and decided to try the 4.0's. I now have all the detail without the brightness. The bass is still there and the highs too, but everything just sounds more "natural". Two thumbs up for MAX!
Now, I only wish I could afford the Symphony speaker cables. Till then Kimber 8TC will have to do.

With the dlin Silver Bullet 4.0, you get one of the best midrange around. Treble is sweet and bass is well balanced with the mids and highs. The bass is good, but it goes slightly less deep then dh labs bl-1 series 2. Compared to dh labs, there is more air in the sound. Dh labs have a slightly more dense and robust sound, but the density of the sound may slightly compromise transparency in some systems. With dlin audio, the sound always remains liquid and transparent. Timbre are great with dlin audio, especially in the mids and upper mids (dh labs is not bad either!). For the bass and upper bass, dh labs sounds slightly better in my system. Soundstage is an area where dlin audio beats dh labs. The soundstage is clearer, with more space around instruments. For the rca connectors, i found them difficult to get a tight connexion with my preamp. The replacement by WBT connectors is surely a wise move from Max. Overall, a very good interconnect. So for the service quality. I would give 5 stars for the sound but i give 4 stars because of the loose connexion. With WBT connectors, i would give 5 stars.
