I must say this is a complementry cable in every area. The extention right after plug it in cannot simply put more highs or low... It assists the system by letting the system speak what it should speak. For my system, Gryphon amp to Dynaudio speaker (which is an unusal matching), the power cord help the Gryphon to flourish in its full potential, eliminate the Dynaudio speaker from screaming in the mid-high. So, it looks to me, the cable will counter balance the sonic effect with quite a complete sense.Musicality? Well, my gryphon can contribute completely now! Really, when proportion is kept right. Music comes in the most healthy way.
Surely it worth its price (250)!

Strength:

Solid contstruction

Weakness:

So heavy, it doesn't stay plugged in. Hard to bend

This power cord has always gotten rave reviews. Everyone seems to think that they are great. I'm sorry to report that I'm the lone dissenter. I have two of these on my Parasound amplifiers and they really don't do anything for the sound. I tried using one as the connection from the wall to a Richard Gray's Power Company 400S and the sound quality of my system actually degraded. The plug wouldn't stay in the wall socket either. I guess that the sound of the ElectraGlide power cord just spoiled me.

Strength:

Increased dynamics, detail, bass tightness and punch.

Weakness:

Big, stiff, hard to hide.

Immediate and dramatic difference. I was expecting to listen very hard for the changes and convince myself they were there. The change in my system is obvious, even without extensive burn-in. It does all of the things they say, quieter background, better dynamics, more detail to soundstage, etc. I have not compared the Synergistic to other aftermarket power cords, but it beats the stock cord on my Classe' SSP-25 hands down.

Expensive but worth it. I will be adding another one to my system, for the amp.

Associated equipment:
Classe' SSP-25 processor/preamp(where I installed the cord)
Rotel RMB-1095 amp
B&W Nautilus 804s speakers
Sony 7700 DVD/CD, transport-only (Classe' for DAC)

Strength:

Huge upgrade in overall system performance

Weakness:

Difficult to manuever

I am thankful for being born with an open mind! I order these with a 30 day trial with nothing to lose and I was throwing away the shipping box after five minutes of installation. Unbelievable! The first thing I noticed was a much smoother and balanced sound with less harshness in the upper mids. With continued burn-in these really started to open up allowing more detail to come through and improving the soundstage and imaging dramatically. There is absolutely no other $250 upgrade for my system that could have this kind of impact. I realize many people think it's overboard but if you try these you will see for yourself and then you can make an *educated* evaluation. BTW can folks please not post a review without actually using the product? You don't review an album without hearing it.

Synergistic Research has done an outstanding job with this one and has turned another power cord skeptic into a fanatical believer. A definite must try.

My system:

Anthem Integrated 1 with phono stage
Pro-ject 1.2 Turntable w/ Grado Red
B&W CDM-1 SE
Audioquest CV-4
