Strength:

Construction and sound quality.

Weakness:

No balanced output.

The sound from the ZZ Eight is very smooth and detailed. HDCD encoded CDs seem equal to SACD versions. An XRCD-2 of Bill Evans/Tony Bennett compared to the Mobile Fidelity LP only lacked a slight air. Lows are full and as smooth as tubed CD players that I've used. (I recently played a Dorian organ CD that reproduced 16 Hz notes and they were accurately presented through my system--which uses a pair of Bag End subs). The sound stage is deep and wide. I highly recommend this CD player, especially if you can find it on the used/demo market.

Brings fidelity to previously unreachable levels. I'll spare you the tired industry adjectives. This product is magical. The most Analog like Player i ever heard.I have a Krell 200 FPB amp and Audio Research ls 22 preamp. The Bow
enhanced the system and brought at Galactic level.
