This single-disk CD player has a fairly "plain-jane" external appearance that belies an impressive sound quality. The machine has an up-to-date Crystal 24-bit DAC. In comparison with other players I've had in the past, the sound is much more refined, with superb resolution of low-level detail, smooth & balanced frequency response, excellent dynamic range and soundstage. This machine matches very well with other Creek components (e.g. 4330 integrated amp). Build-quality appears very good. I would consider this player very competitive with similar fine players in the $800-1500 price range. Highly recommended!
