Strength:

Sounds wonderful

Weakness:

Build quality and design

I have to agree with some of the other reviewers: the overall quality of the player is not impressive; I had to send my first unit back to Jolida due to a broken display.
The plastic-like design is poor, the Jolida definitely does not look like a high-end component. After breaking it in for several days the player sounds great - I should mention that I ordered it with the upgraded tubes. Bill Baker from Response Audio was wonderful to work with. I think the Jolida JD603 is worth the money (and probably more) if you don't mind the cheap looking design.

It is part of my dream system:
CD - Jolida JD603,
PreAmp - Conrad-Johnston PV-10A
Amp - DecWare Zen (this little tube amp is a miracle!!!)
speakers -Kef Q15
cables - Transparent

Strength:

SOUND!

Weakness:

Remote seems kinda cheap

I've owned the Jolida 603 for alittle over 6 months
now and it has been nothing short of amazing.
Poor recordings sound very good and well recorded CD's
sound excellent through out the musical spectrum.
I'am not going to get into it's sonic characteristics
because there different in each set-up, but in mine
its total musical synergy something the other CDplayers
stated above lacked in certain areas.
AS for poor quality, i've not had one glitch with mine.
Just remember, one bad seed doesn't wreck the whole bunch!

Strength:

wonderful warm sound, price, value

Weakness:

I wonder about the build. Long time to index a disc, sometimes transport moves in and out mysteriously. Note that these problems only occur when the unit is cold. After warmup not a problem at all.

The sound is superb, tubes really help over solid state. This is a simple machine where the sound/cost ratio is great. Although I occasionally have start-up problems, I still like the unit very much once I get to the music. A nice match with Jolida 1501.

Jolida represents an easy, inexpensive way to get into high quality audio.

gcaudio.com has really good prices and service
