Works like a charm. What I did to organize the CDs so you can tell where they all are, is get two 100-disk rotating racks, put all the empty cases in them, and stick on a Dymo label beside each slot in the rack with a number that corresponds to the CD's position in the changer. So to select a CD, I just go to the racks, find the CD I want to play by its cover, look at the number beside it, and enter that into the remote. No problem! |

Weakness:
No menu. Must make and maintain your own Library listing. Changer has suited my needs until recently when I can no longer call up CDs or move to a CD Location; can't even get my CDs out; hung up on 1 specific CD. Any ideas on unloading? |

Not a bad CD player; I have not noticed any problems with the random functionlike others have on the model that's one step up--the selections do seem to be random. I haven't noticed any patterns in the three months I've owned it. Sound is not spectacular, but not terrible, although I haven't had a chance to compare the sound of this player with others on my system. Remote is functional, although it has some annoying features, and is somewhat counterintuitive. Ability to group by genre of music would've been nice. |

Strength:
my whole cd library can almost fit into it.
Weakness:
you have to make a list of cd location or you will have a hard time finding specific cds. my housemates call it the cd graveyard because once you put in a cd, chances are you'll never find it again. I expected a cd player that holds 200 discs to have a higher program capacity. I wanted to make a mix for a party I was having and after entering the 32nd song of my program, it stopped accepting entries. What's the point of having a 200 disc changer if you can't even program it to play one song off of every disc? It's a shame. |

Strength:
price, for a megachanger I only had to pay $150, much cheaper then sonys I looked at. It is also very dependable.
Weakness:
I also wish that it had groupings for different music types. The play and exchange feature that it has is almost useless. Some of the features offered on higher up models would be useful for some but it really depends on your amp. I use an old AKAI from the 70's. The cd's must be perfect for the player to read them right. No scratches if the cd is mared it will try to play it for a sec and then just move onto the next one. The oversampling can get confused on cd's that are repetative like the beasties boys. I like the unit, for the money it can't be beat. Weakness:
No text library feature Once this is loaded up, it plays like a dream and affords me the leisure of my couch for hours on end. You need to use the book to record cd location, which can be a bit tedious, but at this price point it's a concession I'm happy to make. Sound is very comparable to higher end CD players I've heard that friends and neighbors have taken out 2nd mortgages to purchase. This is a great value in spite of shortcomings we all acknowledge. Too bad it's discontinued because I'd happily buy another to hook up in series. Similar Products Used: Pioneer 18 CD Magazine Changer |

holds 200 CDs
Weakness:
Built shoddily Stay far away from this unit. Complete piece of sh*t. This one worked for 6 months then started giving me strange errors on readout screen...wouldn't play certain CD's. An absolute waste of time and money. |
