This looks like the update to the 315. I purchased it to replace an older Sony single play (CDP297).
It has the Exchange feature (allows you to replace CDs in the trays while one is playing)if that is important to you.

Its best feature, in my opinion, is that it has a digital optical output. I have it connected to my Sony 825 and it produces beautiful sound with no distortion.

Picked this up and am very happy with it. Only a few small problems I found. No power button on remote, no big deal - I have it plugged into the switched outlet on my receiver. Sound quality isnt perfect but for $140 im not expecting perferction, it is still very good.:)
OTOH - It is a simple player. Not too many unnecessary bells and whistles which annoy me. Allows me to use it just like I want to - pop in 5 CDs, hit play and forget about it.
Compared it to a similarly priced Technics and Magnavox and thought this was the best of the 3.

All in all a good buy

Purchased the Sony CDP CE335 recently. Found the sound quality to be extremely good. The only quirk/drawback I found was the omission of a power off button on the remote. The 5 disc tray gives me the option to feed in diffrent albums and the shuffle mode enables me to come up with a random mix. The Exchange feature allows you to swap CD's while one is playing. All in all extermly statisfied with the price/features combo. Thumbs UP on this one.

I recently was in the market for a multi-disc CD changer with a digital out. After looking at a few others from Sherwood, Yamaha, Marantz, I came back to this Sony model mainly on price! For AU$320 it was a very good buy, considering the CDP-CE315 (exactly the same but no SPDIF) was upto $100 more expensive at some places! I've used it for a month and have had no problems hooked up to an Onkyo TX-DS474 receiver and Celestion speakers. I only use the digital out (optical) so I can't vouch for the Sony D-to-A's. Some of the other brand CD players were not capable of playing CDR's, so far, this Sony has been fine with CDR discs. One point - the volume control on the remote only changes the volume of the Line Out NOT the digital out.

Strength:

Nice features
Optical Digital Out
Solid CD Player

Weakness:

Lack of Power Control From Remote

I am very happy that I purchased CDP-CE335, it is a great CD player. Its relatively inexpensive at $150 from Circuit City, and has all the features and such that I need. I'm certaintly no audiophile, and so if you are looking for super high quality in all your audio products, this CD player probably isn't for you. But if you just want a good sounding CD player at a decent price, the CE335 is a sure bet.

Strength:

Good sound, optical out, fast tray load.

Weakness:

Disc changing is a bit slow.

I like this player quite a bit. Easy to use, and design is done well. It seems to work a bit better than the other models of its type.

This product is a great deal except for two things. One was mentioned among the other reviews which was the lack of the power button on the remote control. The other thing is that the time for the discs to rotate around the track. I have seen NAD cd player that just sped up. this sony is just extremely slow which is ok becuase you can only listen to 1 cd at a time. i haven't heard anything wrong with the music it produces. but then again, i have Infinity Delta 60's hooked up with Advent AV500S 15in subwoofer and a Teac AGD9000 reciever. the sound is pretty good. so, for all this, a 4 star rating!
