Strength:

Great value and functionality.

Weakness:

Slow and noisy, but most carousels are, especially at this price point.

This is an excellent value. I auditioned all of the above products with high quality headphones, and this one was a definite winner. The Onkyo sounded like somebody stuck some mud in the outputs, so it was an immediate loser. It had incredibly poor dynamics and clarity. The Denon was admittedly a finer player, especially with HDCD algorithm decoding capabilities, but it had a loud and slow door, and the functionality was very poor, so since it was 100 dollars more than the others on my list, it was gone also. I then considered the Sony line. Sony has never been my first pick in audio, but I shortly changed my mind. I listened to the 50+1 megachanger and the 5-CD changer, and they were both of the same caliber. They sounded far better than the Onkyo, in terms of detail, dynamics, and openness. Then I considered the CDP-CX235. For only thirty dollars more than the Sony 5-CD changer, it offered 200 CD capability and CD text. I auditioned it next to the other Sonys, and it blew them away. The transitions were smoother and the dynamics stood out even more. The detail became crisper, with more defined bass, midrange, and high frequencies. It was clearly a better player- and it had text and 200-CD capacity! I will admit that I have only owned it a short while, but for all the rest of you that have complained about the CDs breaking... look at the reviews of your Pioneer and other CD changers. They break CDs occasionally as well. With great functionality (wonderful remote, good but not great disc memo features, and nice organization/playback modes), superb audio quality for it's price point, and a stylish chassis, this CD player is the best buy for those of us with less than 300 dollars for a source component and who have too many CDs to constantly flip in and out of a 5- or 6-CD changer. Sony makes a better valued product in this price range than any other player I listened to.

Strength:

200 CD capacity is great. 8 music groups. CD Text for each CD. Great sound. Quiet operation. Plays CD-R's and CD-RW's no problems. Remote control is easy to use as. Looks good too.

Weakness:

The unit does not display the text while the cd plays. You have to stop the cd from playing when loading/unloading.

I really like this unit. It is a great addition to a Audio system if you have alot of music. I bought this player because I make all of my Cd's from Mp3's. I have more than 2500++ (and growing) MP3's. This unit makes an Awesome juke Box for parties

Strength:

It was cheap, but not worth the money.

Weakness:

Drops cds. Can't find cds. Hard to load cds.

Yeah, I also had problems with this player. It couldn't figure out what slots had cds in them, and what slots didn't, and then it also losts cds in the thing that spins. I wouldn't recommend this thing.

Yamaha. I like their products a lot better.
