Ive been a long time Vinyl addict, and havnt heard a CD player which didnt sound dull and lifeless compared to a good turntable.

As you all know, CD's dont crackle and pop and are convenient. However, as much as Ive tried, Ive never been able to really enjoy listening to them without wondering whats missing.

After reading a great deal about this player here and at www.audioasylum.com I decided to pay a local dealer a visit. Im not a audiophool, I dont believe in snake oil, megabuck cables etc.

The salesman started fluffing around about how the interconnects were new, and he should go get some old ones etc etc. I knew if there was a difference Id hear it straight away. I did, and so did my wife.

SACD has all the good things about CD in slightly larger serves, but most importantly, it now has the natural sound, dynamic feel and wide soundstage that CD has always lacked.

Some of you who have been listening to CD for along time may need a longer audition for your ears to adjust before youll hear all the benefits. Then try and go back and listen to CD.

Aside from playing SACD's, I must say, even normal CD's sounded pretty damn good on the 777ES. I was pleasantly supprised that I didnt wince when I heard some good CD's played.

There are also over 300 titles now available via the internet, try the hmv stores in the various countries. So Ive ordered one here in Australia for $4000 and will be getting it soon
