The 200 pound (in England) 3450SE received a "Best Buy" rating from Hi-Fi Choice, but my experience would indicate it was over-rated. |

Having owned a Teac cdp3450se for a year now, I can confirm that it is a solid and reliable cd player for only £200. Hifi Choice, Hifi World and What Hifi seem to like it, for the reason that it doesn't sound remarkable, or that it won't upset the rest of your system. One thing readers may wish to consider is a 'clock2 upgrade' from Trichord. This should cost about £100 and affects the transport clock only. The sound will blow away all £300 cd players, and challenge the great Arcam 8se. Praise, indeed. The unmodified Teacs are good sounding, if slightly bland machines, but at least you know that it will continue going for the forseeable future. This is a honest and reliable cd player. Recommended. |
