Strength:
Excellent Display. Good Sound, Quick Disc Access.
Weakness:
Repeat fuction is lame. No ability to select one or all. Disc skip button is in an awkward place on panel. This is an excellent unit to add CD capability to the Home Theater room. It has decent sound, a clear, logical display and super quick disc access. Available at Circuit City frequently for $99. No remote included, but will work fine with almost any universal remote. As noted above the repeat function is lacking, it is either on or off. Also, the disc skip button is an awkward position for changing discs when the tray is open, this may seem trivial, but it really is a pain if you have very large fingers as it is in the center of the panel, right above the tray. 5 stars, less 1 star for the crappy repeat function and poor placement of the disc skip button. Strength:
Good sound. 5CD changer
Weakness:
very noisy while loading or changing track in random play. No remote. Good sound. I connect it my mono television, cuz' speaker is not delivered yet. The sound is terrific. And 5cd full random play is really better than I expect. Similar Products Used: panasonic cdp |

Strength:
flawless operation, optical output, inexpensive
Weakness:
none so far I thought it would never happen to me, but in less than 1 year my HK FL8350 started to skip. I wanted another 5 disc changer that was reliable, but didn't have big bucks to spend. After hearing good things about Technics CD players I bought the SL-PD5. I have not heard the sound of this player thru the analog outputs yet, but so far the player sounds good connected to the optical input of my Denon receiver. Discs that were skipping on the HK play perfectly on the Technics. In this situation the old saying "you get what you pay for" does not hold water. When HK first came out with the FL8350 it was well over $300.00 most places, but is now much cheaper. The Technics can be found for under $100.00 most places. The HK is heavier than the Technics, but this must not mean much either. Heavier components don't always equate to higher quality. The only thing I don't like about the Technics is you have to use the disc skip button to remove the CD, which is a minor inconvience. Overall I give this player a 5 for value and 4 overall. Strength:
Price, sound
Weakness:
No remote This is a very good sounding cd player. It is extremely well built and for the price I can't complain any. I paid $99 at Circuit City. My biggest complaint was the lack of a remote. It does change discs and tracks very fast. It is an excellent bargain and I do not think you can go wrong with this. 5 stars for the sound, 5 for the value. Similar Products Used: Magnovox 735 |
