Just got given a whole load of Hi-Fi gear from a loft clearance. Googled the MASH to see if I might get a tenner for it. Read the reviews here and promptly swapped my Marantz 67SE for the MASH . . . . . . totally blows the Marantz out of the water. I'm a very happy chappie and totally free !! |

3D, Breathtaking Clarity, bass deeper than you think, perfect timing. I bought this at a very reasonable price; i dont think the person knew how good this player was. I have had a a Marantz CD63 KI Sig and a Sony CDP930 and this thing wipes the floor with the both despite being older. If you find one buy it immediately.

Strength:
Treble, quality build, "golden" disk tray, aluminium front panel, warranty, display which is very informative and looks really beautiful, much more...
Weakness:
I barely managed to fit my receiver on it because it''s very "deep" in longitude. I bought this CD some time ago and I must say it way quite expensive. But it is certainly worth the money. Before this CD I had used low quality Technics SL-PG490 and an old Sony (which was really good, but its laser heads were ruined from old age). I must note that I use it with an old Sony STR-7065A receiver (4x90W musical power) and Ei (Electronical Industry) Nis AS 803 speakers (80/110W). Well, this Technics''s treble sounds really amazing, and much "smoother" than usual CD players. Build is quite high quality, but I would like to see a better tray mechanism from Technics (my old Sony had a tray that would open and close without making any sound!). Also, the remote is not very good and buttons on it are very irresponsive. Not that it''s bad, but I would really like to see an aluminium 300g remote control (but I don''t think they make them anymore... except B&O and few others). Overall, it''s a very good CD player and it has two-year warranty in Europe. Also it''s very respective that Technics made it in Germany. Similar Products Used: An old model by Sony, but I can''t remember the name. She was a real beauty... |

Strength:
Clear and detailed. Quiet in operation.
Weakness:
No second analogue output for connection to CD-direct on tapedeck. Dull display. The player sounds very detailed and precise. It sounds great and for this price it is the best thing to buy at the moment. The player is very quiet. It produces no disturbing extra noises. Operation is very easy with the large and clear buttons. The display is a bit dull and I miss the music calander layout of my Sony. However it is very easy to operate. Connections are gold platted. Well....This CD is an old sucker! It´s from 1993 or something like that.. It has a very harsh and hard, cold sound. The soundstage is very "3D" with lots of detail. The bass is a bit shy and the player sucks bigtime.. If you catch one on sale, don´t buy it!!! |
