Very, very good CD player. For this amount of money (cca 200$) you get clear and natural sound, not noisy mechanism and relativelly quick exchange of discs. Remote is standard, only that I miss is button for power on/off. But, sound is most important to me, so I think that in his class it is one of the best.

Strength:

Excellent sound. Simple to use and good price

Weakness:

None, for the price. The manual fail to mention that the disc transport does not rotate to allow you to load the CDs. The carroussel comes out far enough to load all CD.

I am impressed with the quality of this CD Player. I got it for less than $70 dollar at The Good Guys store. I am using the optical (Toslink)connection to my Sony receiver and have been enjoying the clean sound (the 575 sound is actually brighter than the Sony 600D DVD player I have). Frequency response is 2Hz-20kHz, harmonic distortion 0.004%, S/N 102 dB. I you can find one, buy it. You won't regret it!

Strength:

Quiet device. Play X-change very convenient. Digital optical output. Very natural/clear sound.

Weakness:

First model that I got was defective. CD Text does not appear to work right.

Its hard for me to say I'm not happy with this Yamaha 575 because I am. But I was pretty disapointed when I opened this up the first time and it immediatly had problems. First it was slow to recognize/play CDs but I beared with it. By the next day, it would not recognize certain CDs and quit playing all CDs completely - Couldn't get a sound out of it. Sometimes it would just automatically open itself up to spit the CDs out. Truly pathetic in my opinion. I bought it from a local independent audio store (Bjorn's $169.99) and they were great in letting me exchnage it.

Since I got this new model I have no complaints. It doesn't seem to have any defects yet. The sound is great and rivals the clarity of other more expensive players made by Denon and Marantz. Basically, I bought the Yamaha for the price and the fact that it had the digital output. I reccomend this and hope you don't get a lemon like I did. 5 for value - 4 for the horrendous defects of my first player.

What's there to say about this CD player. Nothing. This is a very simple machine which delivers all that it promises. Quick CD change, Play x-change capabilities, and great sound. The "guts" are the same as the 675, which are fantastic, you have to spend a lot more to get the same D/A and quality sampling rates as these machines offer. Overall Love it! Very simple face, who needs direct access to tracks from the face, that's what the remote is for! No headphone jack...BIG DEAL, that's what the receiver is for!! Save your money, this is a tough deal to beat!!!
