Strength:
Simple to run, ease of use. Silent tray, well built, rock solid. Excellent sound, optical out, plays really scratched CD's.
Weakness:
None that I can see.... I owned the 575 for a couple of months and was so impressed I kept an eye out on ebay for a used 675. After a month or two I found one sans remote. For an extra $35 for the remote I had a like new 675 for just over $100 total. This thing sings, it's simple it's sweet, it plays all formats, it smoothes scratches it does everything but make my breakfast. Rock solid, if everything electronic were built to this standard I'd die happy. Optical out, smooth full sound, play exchange, all the bells and whistles. I love this thing. If you can get one used, buy it. You wont be sorry. Similar Products Used: Yamaha CDC-575 |

Strength:
"Play-XChange" allows 4 discs to be changed while one is playing....varible output level
Weakness:
wish the remote had a on/off button...must agree the back 2 cds are more difficult to change (very minor complaints) I bought the cdc-685 to replace my tired old Yamaha cd-x3... A great CD player for the price! Functionality-wise, there's not a lot different between this year's 675 and last year's 665, but there are a couple of perks I really like: CD text capability and a new dot-matrix display. These two new additions combined make it a much more aesthetically pleasing modern unit over last year's dull model. |

Strength:
love the exchange play.
Weakness:
when the drawer opens it makes a mechanical noise that sounds like the engine is going to die... Other than the drawer noise, I think this is a great player for the money. With the same insides, the 575 probably makes a better buy...if it had a headphone jack. I would recommend this to people who are looking for good sound and aren't troubled by a little extra engine noise. Similar Products Used: Classe CA-100, Adcom GFP-750, MIT interconnect |

Strength:
nice sound, play exchange, CD text, adjustable analog out
Weakness:
its big, bout 6' deeper than my yamaha reciever, and just as wide This CD player has more than any non-audiophile could want, nice clear sound, CD-text, adjustable analog out, digital out, playexchange, and those 10 buttons on the front are awesome if you sit next to your stereo. Random seems random enough for me, havn't heard the same song twice in one listening spree. Shopped around and picked one up for $260 CDN, and it hasn't let me down yet. The headphone jack is something not included in the 575, if you're comparing and the 675 has some nice CD->tape options. If you're planning on buying a Sony or a Technics around the same price, spend the extra $20-50 and pick one of these up, you won't be disapointed. Don't rely too much on CD-text, I don't own a single CD with it, except the one's I burn myself and insert it. Even the ones I bought in the last few months. Strength:
Lots and lots
Weakness:
Nothing really This is a great CD player for the price. It'll play most damaged CD's. I have quite a few badly scratched CD's and this player plays them just fine. Apparently it's also very durable. I practically popped the CD tray half way out and it functions just fine when I managed to pop it back in. That was quite a scare. It sounds great, too. |
