IMHO, this is one of the jewels of CD players. It is simple, rugged, a no nonsense design and, unlike the likes of Harman Kardon or Denon (with both I have had a truely horrendous experiences in the quality departments), it will last forever. Soundwise: everything sounds as it should, nothing is overhyped, the treble, middle, lower middle and low frequencies are where they should be. The sound is clear, crisp, full-bodied. A truely astonishing experience. This is a promise! Buy it if you have a chance - you won’t regret it! I've had mine for 4 years now and I still love it to death!

Excellent CD player, Clear on all types of music, even with damaged CD's.
Together with a Yamaha AX-592 makes an excellent combination!

Very simple (if that is a weakness?)

Clean/natural sound, works good with cd-r, optical and koaxial outputs. If you just want a player with great sound, no multifunctional gadget, take a look at the Yamaha CDX-593 or the new CDX-596.
