I've had this machine for 6 months and generally like it. It makes great copies of a complete cd and it's very easy. Making mixes is not as successful. I've found that the sound levels from one cd to another vary and since you can't set recording levels, you can often end up with a very loud song next to one with lower levels. Ability to fade in and out would make this a much more powerful deck. And finally, when recording from analog, I wish there was more control of the recording levels. I've never gotten the levels from an LP as high as those from a cd. Overall, it's not a bad deck. If you are mostly making copies of cds, this then you will like this one alot. |

Strength:
Price/value
Weakness:
Puts sound gaps between tracks--no continuous mixing; limited ability to adjust record level This dual-deck is a great value. I've recorded from vinyl, DVD's, and, of course, CDs. Problems include the fact that the machine automatically places sound gaps between tracks, which is fine for most CDs but bad for continous mix dance CDs. One advantage of the dual-deck is high speed dubbing--you can make a copy of a CD in half the time it would take to play it. Another disadvantage is the limited ability to adjust the recording level--I can never make songs recorded from vinyl sound as loud as those recorded from CD. It takes a while to figure out how to record from various sources, but once you get a hang of it, it's very easy. Overall, I'm pleased with it! |
