Strength:

Digital inputs(optical & Coaxial) Digital Outs

Weakness:

Lots of Static on Optical and Analog

Well i just wanted to say that i have had all the problems that you all have had before me. So i messed with the thing for awhile so i can get the best sound out of my recordings. Well are you guys all ready? The key to getting the best digital recording out of this machine is to use the Coaxial Digital instead of the Optical. It still uses digital and from what i found is that it makes exact copies as the original. I have tried it on 3 Cd's and it has worked better then expected.

Strength:

Recording and playback quality, ease of use, versatility

Weakness:

None

I'm not sure what the complaints are with static in the recordings from others, but after burning dozens of CDs using this unit, I've never had any static or any problems whatsoever. I use the optical digital input/output as well and have had nothing but great quality recordings everytime. The only drawback is compared to a PC CD-RW, you cannot record at a higher speed than 1x with a single disc CD recorder, but if you want to go at higher speeds, just use your PC CD-RW or one of the 2x/4x home stereo units with the second disc tray. For what it's designed to do this unit is a great performer and currently it can be had for well under $300...

Strength:

I left a review two down! I change my mind on this piece of junk! This thing has no strengths.

Weakness:

The whole thing is a weekness. Constant Static on all CD-r's recorded.

What a piece of crap! Junk, Junk, Junk. I am in agreement that this thing should of been recalled back to the factory. I was ready to drop kick this worthless machine. Static on most tracks. So i took back this thing and got the Phillips dual cd-r recorder. I recorded two cd's already and not a bit of static. I think i will be satisfied with the Phillips. Which they have been around first with there developments and background with the cd-r recorder.
The only thing i can say is trust product that has been around for awhile. My value rating is one also, considering that this equiptment isn't worth a cheap price as well as an expensive price.

Weakness:

static on everything, 5 cd-r ruined, Piece of crap. Returned after a month for phillips 775.

I tried everything with this damn thing! I tried analog, optical and coaxial. Static on almost every recording. Of all the reviews i have read it seems like this thing should of been recalled. It doesn't make a recording worth keeping. Would not recommed to anyone! Sorry pioneer! I thought it might be magnetic field around my equiptment. So i turned everything off and let the source only play into the recored. No luck!
