Just bought these headphones yesterday, in order to be able to listen to my music without disturbing others. ATM i've connected it to my PC though, really a bit of a shame, but even MP3's sound SOO good through this headset, it's almost amazingly.I can't wait to hook it up to my Hi-Fi :) (pioneer a400/Marantz CD67OSE) |

I purchased these outstanding headphones to listen to at work. I work on a computer all day doing design work for a graphics firm and have the wonderful opportunity to listen to music. I have these coupled with a mid-line portable CD player by Panasonic and listen to them for about 5+ hours a day five days a week on average. They are outstanding to listen to and are very comfortable for extended wearing. I have had slight problems with the "sound going out" in one ear or another and it seems that the problem is with the connector plugs between the wire and the earpiece. I don't move around too much in my day-to-day activities so it's not really a big deal, but I would suggest contacting Sennheiser for a solution if you're considering purchasing these to use in a more active setting. The sound quality blows away headphones of similar price ranges, very good highs and great extended bass. You will find things in your music that you wouldn't know was there unless you happen to have a pair of $2000 speakers at home. I'm giving them a four-star rating only because of the aforementioned cord issues when using them in a setting where you will be stretching the cord to its 8' limit... otherwise, quality of sound and construction is excellent and worthy of five stars! |

Strength:
Good build quality, comfortable for long listening sessions,
Weakness:
Cable connection at base of headphone Since reading the various reviews in the English Hi-Fi magazines I've lusted after a pair of these headphones. The HD565 Ovation's cost $ 499 AUS and I was always trying to save up for them but always managed to talk myself out of them because I thought I wouldn't use them enough to warrant the cost. ( my main Hi-Fi system cost approx $ 12,000 AUS to put together ) Campsie Hi Fi had a special run out of these great headphones at $ 299 AUS, I said stuff it and bought them and haven't looked back. The great thing about these headphones are their accuracy and it's imaging ability. Play Mike Oldfield's later Tubular Bells III on these and you'll be blown away. It's got it all and in the right amount and places - treble, mids and bass. If anything, these great headphones may make bad recordings sound a tad worse. These wonderful 565 Ovations are no longer being produced, what a shame - but I believe sometimes you can still get factory re-furbished ones direct from Sennheiser. Get one if you can and enjoy listening to your music collection all over again !!!! Yes, it's that good !!!! Similar Products Used: Sennheiser HD 475, Sony MDR's, various Koss |

Strength:
Brilliant clearity. Well balanced. Detail detail detail!
Weakness:
Cable connection, cable durability. These cans are fantastic! What can I say. The detail reproduced here is unbelievable. Someone mentioned how they spoil some music by revealing its errors.... this is true. And rediscover favourite albums! Similar Products Used: Sony MD series |

When I first picked up a pair of these wonderful headphones from my work, I knew I would love them...the reason I picked such nice set is that I'm a car audiophile by trade, and car audio competition judge, listening to the Sennheisers is a great reference for what a vehicle "should" sound like....but, they aren't getting off that easy, if I was hard pressed to find a fault with them, I would have to say the treble can get a bit peaky, a bit strong on some brass. Also, at low volumes the bass sounds wonderful, but can easily break up at higher volumes....like most other headphones will. Don't get me wrong, they are a great set of headphones, wonderful "open" sound, great ambience....killer midbass, sweet midrange!! Also, these headphones are very comfortable...way to go! Now, I've just gotta find a higher end model, once you have great headphones, you've just gotta have better!! Thank you! |

Strength:
2 Year Warranty
Weakness:
Too bright at high volume Amazing separation, clear and tight bass response, clean midrange and a comfortable wear make these an exceptional purchase. They get a little too bright for my liking in the top end at high volume, but this is simple to counter with an EQ. Similar Products Used: Sennheiser 535 |

I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to spending over £100 on a pair of headphones. The sound quality is very impressive, with a silky smooth treble and truly magnificent bass. Whatever type of music I fed these headphones with, you could not help but smile at such nigh perfect sound reproduction. These headphones have given me many sleepless nights. |

true...it scared the hell out of me when the salesman told me the price!i had then a pair of Sony MDR-CD 170 and i thought they were enought until i diceded to purchase the sennheiser as a lifetime headphone (since my joy is to relax at night and slip into this private world) and it´s god damn worth every penny...firts thing you notice is the lightweight - then the confort and finaly as a "coup-de-graçe" the sound it delivers!!! boy i can´t seem to "box " the music and give it boundaries...they reach deep and separate well all the instruments from "left-right" to "up-down". the only down side of them is the angle of closure of the head-arc...if you have a slim head, they will slip... |
