Strength:
Comfortable, airy, light, nice highs and mids
Weakness:
they get hot on your head after you wear them too long, the bass sometimes, not often, distorts which I consider a product of the source more than headphones. Also, the cable is very fragile and the copper wiring broke in the first few months with limited use. Well, I have never bought headphones before so I don't have much basis to compare these to other products. What I can say about them is this - they sound great, they are comfortable to wear and after hours of continuous use they don't fatigue your ears. I think they are wonderful headphones for the money I spent (got off ubid.com for dirt cheap) and truly satisfying in all aspects. The only thing negative I can say about them is that they make your ears sweat if you wear them too long - but that's the case with all headphones. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Crisp clean sound, rich bass, clean mids, and bright, strong highs
Weakness:
Not the best for Hip hop or dance techno I have a pair of $30 phones that sound ok (not that I'll be using them again), but I have used professional grade and audiophile headphones in the past from time to time. Buying these was a bit of a lark. I found them for a good price and picked them up - I'm glad I did. These are simply the best headphones I've ever encountered in this price range. First for comfort - I can literally wear them for hours and never feel the need to lift them up to let my ears breathe. In fact, once they are on for a bit, I tend to forget I'm wearing headphones at all. |

Strength:
Excellent imaging
Weakness:
Slightly expensive for what you get. I have been listening to my HD570's a lot lately since I got them a few days ago. I am very satisfied with them right now. The imaging and soundstage are really incredible. I think the Grados are slightly clearer, but I think it is a by product of the excellent imaging of the Senns. The HD570 have a much wider sound stage so the smaller things in the background are not brought up in front as much as the Grados. The Senns also seem to be a bit warmer. I think these retail for around $130 US, and at almost twice the price of the Grado's, I would say get the Grados. I found mine for $80 and at about $10 dollars difference, it may be worth the money depending on your taste in music. If you're looking strictly for portable use, I would definately recommend Grado's since these take much more power to drive. Otherwise these are really good. Similar Products Used: Grado Sr-60 |

Strength:
The most incredible ability to re-produce bass that you can FEEL in your body, even though they are on your EARS!
Weakness:
Distort a bit at higher volumes cos they try so hard! These babies made some of my CD collection sound quite poor...I have CD's of older tracks that have been remastered and sound nice normally but these pick EVERYTHING out! I use them for PC games......sad but true......the sound signal is perfect from a PC game as it is digital and is created by the PC/Software.........and I now hear stuff Inever even IMAGINED..........and this also applies to music.....if the recording is good enough you can hear people SNIFFING in the back ground, plus breathing in between notes etc! Similar Products Used: None really, these are my first REAL headphones.....unreal! |

Strength:
VERY comfortable, a and clean sounding treble-bass mix.
Weakness:
A bit of a strange design, IMO. These are a fantastic set of headphones for what I paid for them (~$89) and I am really glad I went with these as opposed to Sony or Grado. I mainly listen to Techno, House, Trance, and Alternative with some Jazz and Clasical thrown in for good measure. While most of the other reviewers have complained about the bass and treble levels, I think that these 'phones produce a pretty good balance for the music I listen to and they never sound too harsh or boomy - to me, the bass has a pretty warm feeling that goes well with the music I listen to. A nice EQ and a good system does help though and I have been able to tweak a very nice sound with these. This could just be personal preferance, but I am very happy with these Sennheisers. Also, I really enjoy listening to these headphones for extended periods of time. Unlike the Sony V600s, I have used before, I don't feel "tired" after using these for >1-1.5 hours. If you can find these headphones for about $100, I highly reccommend them. I should note that while my friend's HD-600s sound VERY nice, they're way too expensive for my tastes. For the money, these 570s are a much better buy. Similar Products Used: Sony MDR-V600, Sennheiser HD-600 |

Gets better and better.....Bass response still wows me....and its got a L O N G cable! ;-)
Weakness:
Not many really........still tried to hard on some heavy rock music and gets a bit flapped by it all, but hey.....on most stuff these babies ROCK! OK...you want to be SHOCKED by how good headphones can be......you got loads of speakers but still consider headphones to be a "fall back " solution for when the wife/girlfiend/boyfriend/parents are in bed asleep......WELL THESE BAD BOYS wil convince you that they are actually better than most.......with a good PC sound card that does directional stuff (Like Accoustic Edge from Philips, or maybe Live1 from Creative) they are UN-bloody-BELIEVABLE. Strength:
Very clear and detailed sound.
Weakness:
Bass? Maybe. These are really worth the money. I listen to classic rock and blues and these fit the bill. Awesome. I don't have a lot of experience with headphones, but I think that these are pretty good. They are really comfortable to wear. I can't even feel them on my head when I listen to them. Strength:
Extremely comfortable. Clear Highs.
Weakness:
Took long for them to break in. And still the highs are a bit to harsh when listening to music that's heavy on cymbals (rock?) I bought these headphones for work after my panasonics broke. My decision to go for sennheisers was purely based on their comfort. I tried a few others (cheaper and more expensive sennheisers) but these seemed to fit the price/performance ratio well. But when I compared them to my grados (on a behringer multi-channel headphone amp) a was thorougly disappointed. The brights were so harsh that I couldn't listen to my Tool or Gomez albums. They have however broken in (or I've grown accustomed to them) and even now I'm listening to gomez (loud). They still don't touch my grados in terms of musical quality and accurateness but they're so comfortable that I can wear them all day long at work withouth any aching around the ears. 3 hours with my grados and I start to feel uncomfortable. The midrange and bass seem a bit lacking but maybe that's because the highs are so dominant. Their style seems to suit acoustic music (acoustic guitars in particular) but that's the point isn't it? They're not very neutral. You could a lot worse though and in terms of comfort these cans are untouchable. Similar Products Used: grado sr-60, some cheaper panasonics. |
