Strength:
-Mobility -Bass -Some comfort
Weakness:
-Hissing -Weak construction(just plastic) -A bit pricy Good sound for a wireless-pair of headphones. Midrange and highs are ok, but the bass is very good. Buy these only if you REALLY need wireless-headphones. Otherwise buy some corded ones in the same price class. Similar Products Used: Sennheiser HD 600 |

Strength:
Range is good without static or deadspot problems. I had problems also with static, before I followed the directions given with the product. If the headphones are plugged into an audio device that has the volume set on at least a medium volume level, there has been no static problems for me. I have used this product throughout a one-story house and have been able to walk all the way down to the first floor garage while still being able to hear while the headphone transmitter is up in my apartment on the third floor. It is light, and comfortable, and battery life is long enough for almost anybody. The surround sound is great.
Weakness:
as with any set of full-size headphones, this pair can leave you with "headphone-hair" Contrary to some problems other reviewers had, this is a great product. |

Strength:
Mobility!!! And after a while I can't even tell they're on my head.
Weakness:
Wish reception was a bit less fussy. Found these as a refurb at Tiger Direct. I really enjoy the mobility and the light weight. The sound isn't bad either. Typical of the better Sennheisers with decent bass and a nicely balanced high end. The downside of the cordless design though is that they lack the extreme detail of the best headphones and the highs aren't extended enough to get a silky topend. I hesitated to buy these though based upon some comments by web reviewers. There is some truth to these comments but they don't bother me. Yes, the headphone cup is a bit small and they do seem a bit tight at first. But I'm an over six foot male with a large head and average size ears. My ears fit fine and after just a couple of minutes they don't feel tight at all. I can wear them for hours comfortably. And reception isn't perfect. I can use them most anywhere in my large house but there are some deadspots based more on how I turn my head than distance. The good news though is that just a tiny head adjustment clears it up. And lastly I recommend the SR65 as the sweet spot in the line. It has the autotuning feature which I suspect is important to decent reception and it has the surround sound feature which basically seems to feed the deeper bass to both channels. It does give more ambience and better bass. It definitely does enhance the sound of some recordings. The SR85 lacks the surround and substitutes dynamic noise reduction. That's evidently a compander system that according to the SR85 reviews seems to compress the dynamics. No problem here on dynamics. Similar Products Used: AKG 240DF |

Strength:
Mobility. Good sound.
Weakness:
Fairly weak base. My wife got me these for my birthday. I didn't check, but I'm guessing they were around $150? The sound is fine and, unlike a couple of the other people reviewing this product, I've gotten absolutely no static or any other type of poor reception. In fact, as I write this, I'm listening to a classical music Christmas CD in a room that is about 50 feet from the transmitter and through 2 walls - still with no static or distortion. I've heard better sounding headphones, but sacrificing some sound quality for the mobility is worth it to me. If you don't mind being tied to your Amp with a wire, don't bother with these. If you do mind, they're great - and much better than I expected. |

Strength:
In the living room, good bass, treble, little hiss. DAT, CDR running through my NAD amp sound fine. I crank up my Klipsch for true realism.
Weakness:
Won't go to the bathroom or the garden. Decent, worth the price. Similar Products Used: AKG corded, for years. |

Strength:
They're comfortable.
Weakness:
Picket fencing, static, even while standing in the same place and within 10 feet of the transmitter. Moving the transmitter doesn't help. To be honest, there just isn't a lot to write about this product. I was looking forward to some freedom from wires when listening to music and not bothering my housemate. They sounded good in the store - but my house doesn't have TVs and stereos blaring. The sound clarity is good, but the static and picket fencing is almost maddening sometimes, even sitting in the same spot. Don't succumb to the hype and waste your time with this product. My birthday is coming up, and I'm going to exchange these for just about anything else. |

Strength:
Great sound quality when close to the transceiver. Comfortable ear pads
Weakness:
terrible range. Lots of static--even with experimenting with placement and channel selection options. A friend of mine had purchased these headphones and returned them disappointed, but I was willing to give Sennheiser the benefit of the doubt because of their name. I paid about half of retail price as I worked at the store and got them near cost. Even at half the cost, I couldn’t justify keeping them based on performance. I had wanted wireless headphones for years to have the freedom to walk around the house. I could barely walk around the room without getting loud static. My friend experienced a similar problem. When sitting close to the transceiver, they sounded great, but then why not get a wired set of headphones if one is going to be sitting in one spot. I’ll give Sennheiser the benefit of the doubt if they come out with a new product, but for now, I recommend that everyone hold off on this set. After the fact, I''ve seen reviews on other similar site complaining of similar problem that I experienced. |
