I picked this player up as a floor model at Best Buy for $205 with tax, and after the $75 rebate I was able to play HD-DVD and blu ray for $130. The player has a long-ish load time, but when I'm about to sit down to a 2-hour movie I hardly consider it a downside. I've heard of problems with dropouts or freezing, but I've watched about 30 movies in a month and a half and have yet to have a problem. Video quality is great and audio is great over optical, but I can't speak for the new HD audio formats over HDMI since my receiver is outdated. The build quality feels sort of "plasticy," but that's because it is plastic. Despite that, the player is a fairly high-quality build and doesn't look too bad either.

Bottom line, if you can pick this up for under $200, then get a $75 rebate through LG, you can't lose. With HD-DVD on clearance for $5 a disc, the player practically pays for itself.

This unit will not get through more than 5 minutes of your favorite movie!

The setup on this unit was a breeze. However, I cant get through more than five minutes of a movie with out the player freezing up and ultimately shutting itself off. I am taking it back ASAP.
