Strength:

3 trays

Weakness:

Noisey transport, when it worked! DVD would not read, hear the motors running but no dvds responding

This machine seems to have lots of quirks. It kept getting hung up with dvds inside not playing or reading or doing anything had to keep un plugging and restarting about 2 a week! Returned it for a panasonic AVR30. Wow the picture is sharper and out performs the sound of the JVC as well. One draw back it does not play CD-R discs. Dump JVC Panasonic 30 or Pioneer 333 is where you want to be! The pioneer reads CD-R & CD-RW, CD, DVD. the reviews of both of these are great! 4.70 / 5.00. You don't get the extra trays but they work flawlessly, with not much transport noise.

Strength:

3 drawer

Weakness:

Lack of shuffle option for CDs, remote is limited and could use backlighting

First DVD player purchased was a Sony and drive noise was excessive. Returned for a new Sony model and the noise was still present. Traded up to JVC and have been extremely happy. I am currently shopping for a new receiver, but the 555 has all of the outputs I am looking for to get high quality sound(component,S-video and optical)since I will rely on the receiver for the decoder. Very happy with the picture quality.
