    Strength:

Low Price Very small box, it takes very little space

    Weakness:

Screen Saver, drive noises, sometimes the display starts to blink in very specific areas, low sensitivity of the remote sensor

I bought a Mustek V520 in January. Later I found that the screen saver didn't work. It went to repair. One month later they gave me a new one. It worked fine, but sometimes it stopped 1 or 2 seconds between scenes of a movie. After 6 months, if i closed the drive without a CD, a "ronncc " noise was heard. I sent him to repair again and after waiting a month anda a half, the supplier told me that they couldn't repair or replace the unit, so they gave me back the money, so i bought a Pionner and it has nothing to do with the Mustek. So I can say that Mustek, never again

I bought this because it was the cheapest on the market, however, it doesn't play Video CD karaoke (VCD). It only plays DVD Karaoke. $150

    Strength:

    Cheap

    Weakness:

    Metallic sound reproduction Unstable picture

Never, never, again. I bought this as a "back-up" player for use in my sleeping room, so I was initially attracted to it''s low price, although I had never heared about Mustek. Well, I know that this player is one of the cheapest on the market, but come on!! Got my first player 1,5 months ago - this broke down after 2 days of use. Got a brand new replacement from the dealer (the example was not repaired), but this did not work at all. After using the first player for 2 days, here is my verdict: harsh sound, unstable picture quality, not especially userfriendly operations. I MAY have had a lot of bad luck with these players, and the 2 players that I tried out may not be representative for Mustek, but I will still warn any potential buyers out there. NAD, here I come!

    Strength:

    Features, price, style, speed

    Weakness:

    remote, remote, remote...confusing to use.

Good code free player. The MP3 decoder is nice. Don't know if I'll ever use the Karaoke function. Plays every format out there! Comes with all interfaces, optical, component, coax, etc. Clean face, nice silver-gold colour.

    Strength:

    Truly codefree
    Playback on any TV
    DTS & digital output

    Weakness:

    Confusing Remote control

A great machine - I spent some weeks looking for a codefree player, and for the money, this knocks the socks off the competition. Truly codefree, multivoltage and plays on NTSC and/or PAL without any modification. A great machine.

    Strength:

Mustek V520 DVD Player, plays all formats

    Weakness:

The manual and packaging as it says it is SVHS and Scart as options, but they are not available. Sound is low, but picuture quality is good for $320.00 Australian. Plays all region.

Not a bad player and plays all regions so far. It has a small footprint which is what I wanted, and seems well made.

Picture is very good and stable, but volume is not enough as you have to turn TV right up to get loudness. It has no SVHS or Scart connectors and only has composite video output, which is a shame. It has dolby Digital and DTS.

    Strength:

decent cd-replay and can handle many formats

    Weakness:

    lousy picturequality

this is a low budget dvd player that seems to have a good picture quality but has not at a closer look especially with dark scenes ,that has no definition. i think that the a/d converter is the weak link. just try a mowie as castaway and u will see what i mean. other problems are it cant play certain mowies or freezes in the middle of the mowie and wont respond on any buttons it only helps to pull out the powercord to get it to work again. at the the moment i am looking for another player . i should known better u get what u pay for
