I use this NAD T533 with an Accuphase E207 amplifier and Dynaudio contour 2.8 speakers.
The picture quality is what you can expect from a €500 dvd-player, good but a high quality scartcable sure makes a difference.
Because I'm more a audiofreak then a moviewatcher the soundquality is more important to me and to be honest it's not that good. The T533 makes to much noise and like many of his english brothers and sisters the highs are to sharp and it lacks the detail in bass.

Good for watching movies but not for listening to music.

Strength:

-Great DVD performance -Great CD/mp3 sound quality -Multi-region readability -Excellent remote -Attractiveness -Value

Weakness:

-No SACD playback -Slightly inconsistent color (with respect to other Nad components)

I bought this a couple of months ago with a Nad T743 A/V receiver and a 5.1 Wharfedale speaker set. The picture/sound quality is excellent for watching DVDs. In addition, the sound quality for CDs is simply amazing. The same is true for mp3 discs. (Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to pick up a DVD-audio disc yet.) It also comes with a great backlit remote but I've used it only a few times. (The receiver remote makes the DVD's redundant.) Something I didn't expect is the player's multi-region capability. While this is a non-issue for some, I play both discs from Korea and North America. Finally, I've always been a fan of Nad's simple, minimalist interface; the player looks good. For someone who wants a player that will handle a number of formats but doesn't want to spend a fortune, this could be the machine of choice-- unless, of course, you're looking for a true universal disc player for SACD playback. I have absolutely no gripes about the player's performance. It's an excellent product that has met or even exceeded my expectations. If I absolutely had to make one negative comment it would be about the player's color. While my old Nad equipment is a gunmetal gray, my current receiver is a shinier, polished aluminum color. My T533 is neither! While at first glance it looks like it's the lighter color, it's actually a bit darker than my receiver. This, however, might be imperceptible to the casual observer.

Strength:

Video and audio quality. Price.

Weakness:

Noisy on layer/track changes.

Beautiful video quality. Has the NAD sound that their amps deliver too, nice. Audio detail is very good for a dvd player. The machine itself is a little noisy when changing tracks (as in dvd menu)but not when playing the dvd. For this price it's a steal compared to the cheapo brands that'll cost half the price but only give you 1 converter instead of the 4 you get with this baby.

Strength:

Excellent CD Audio and DVD Audio Playback. DVD Video is very clear and smooth. Jitter is almost null.

Weakness:

I haven't found any yet. It seems to be a solid player.

Very solid player. For the price, it is one of the strongest dual purpose players on the market.

Strength:

Very Good CD and DVD-A playback. Size (Quite small)

Weakness:

Not found any yet.

I brought this DVD player to use mainly as a cd player, as well as a dvd player. I must say that I am very impressed with the cd performance of the T533. Its not at all tiring as can be the case with many dvd players. The sound is smooth and the bass is tight. This has to be the best dvd player I have had for cd replay. It clearly is never going to be as good as $500 cd player, but it makes a good attempt at it. Also DVD audio play back is excellent. For the money, I don't think it can be beaten as a duel purpose player.
