Strength:
Picture, Sound, ease of use, Price.
Weakness:
none to think of at this price point. bought this from Onkyo's Reburb stock and it has been a flawless player since day 1. It shows excellent piture detail, excellent colors and awesome audio qulities. For an intro level player, I felt it is qquite a bargain for the price I paid in 2003. Shoponkyo.com doesn't sell them this cheap very often so keep looking on their site. Similar Products Used: Pioneer DV-343, (another excellent unit) Onkyo dvsp-301, (another excellent unit) Onkyo DVCP-500 (Junk Iron):( |

Piece of junk. I have the DVCP500 (the 5 disc changer) instead of the DVSP300 shown here, but I had the exact same problem with my DVSP500 that the previous reviewer had with his DVSP300. The unit worked fine for the first few months, but then the performance degraded. It started freezing in the middle of movies, then it got to where it just wouldn't play any DVDs at all. The DVCP500 states "This disc is incompatible with this player. Please insert a compatible disc" on discs that work flawlessly on my Dell laptop. Onkyo should sell the DVCP500 and DVSP300 as "boat anchors" rather than DVD players. |
