Strength:

component video out

Weakness:

Would not play right from the beginning

I purchased this player at the same time I bought my Hitachi 61"". I was extremely excited and even spent $50 on a component video cable. Right from the beginning the thing would lock up when trying to read The Mask of Zorro DVD. I tried to clean the CD with no luck. I tried another DVD and this time it would not even read it stating it was invalid media. Took it back that day and exchanged it for the Sharp 550u no problems since.

Strength:

Has everything you could ask for.

Weakness:

Lacks a rotary jog control

Love this player. I've played numerous DVD's all without a hitch. Sameer I think you are talking about a different player like maybe the 310. The 320 just came out so you can't have had it for 9 months. Built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoders!

Strength:

Ease of Use, Crystal clear picture, great remote, fast load time

Weakness:

Manual could have been better

After doing research for a few months, I bought the Panasonic A320 and made the right choice. I liked the fact that the A320 came with both Dolby Digital and DTS decoders.
I connected the player to a 32in Sony TV using the S-video jack and the picture quality is amazing. When you see the difference between DVD and VHS you realize that DVD is the format of the future. Paid 399 at The Wiz and considering it has dual decoders, I think its a great price. I would definately recommend this DVD player to anyone in the market for a quality player.

Strength:

Onboard Dolby and DTS decoding, full line of digital inputs, very fast load times.

Weakness:

remote not backlit.

This is the first dvd i've owned, and definately the only one, I wouldn't trade it in for the world. The load times on this thing is unbelievably fast. A very sexy machine and stylish remote to boot (glow in the dark, not backlit). I work in a professional audio store and have seen and heard many other brands; but i'll keep mine thank you very much! Awesome!

Strength:

Easy to use. Component video outputs. Silent during playback

Weakness:

Sliding remote control

I decided to buy this DVD player after much research. I'm new to "home audio", as all of my experience revolves around car audio and that techno-wizardry. I use a yamaha 793 reciever, which i luckily found new for $400, four tower speakers (polk) and a 32" sony wega. When i bought the player, i didnt even realize that it had composite video outs. the next day, i read that my TV did indeed, so i was very glad when i saw that the player did too. Picture quality with the TV and DVD is amazing, and i'm waiting for my good cables to arrive, so i can scrap the junk that i'm using. All i can say is that i have a $6000 car stereo system, and this DVD player gives me the sound and sight to keep me satisfied when i'm used to brilliant clarity. I realize it's like comparing apples to oranges, but i've had plenty of people over that said "Jesus Christ" that sounds good.

Strength:

Audio and video qualites, settings and menus, quality impression.

Weakness:

the remote has hidden buttons.

This player was a sought after break from the somewhat unsatisfing range of players i'we tested, nothing bad to say about it at all, it newer fails to live up to my demands. The burr Brown DAC:s delivers a sort of camelion sound bieng harsh when needed and smooth and musical when it's called for, the internal decoders work perfectly with all the necssary setting abillities. Nice menus and lots of wideo and audio triming functions. As for picture quality I expirienced it to be fenomenal, when i was hooked up with a ordinary videocable i thought it to be allmost equal to the resulotion of s-video cable hookup. This machine will be my life paretner. If I could I would give it six stars or more on all parameters.

Strength:

Everything about it. Built in DTS and Dolby Digital decoders.

Weakness:

No zoom

A great DVD player for the money. Never had a problem with any movie and I own about 50. Some people had problems with Matrix, Zorro and others but they worked flawlessly in my machine. Highly recommend one, especially if your reciever does not have the decoders built in.

Strength:

Dolby and DTS decoders on-board, crystal clear picture and sound quality, great black reproduction, no artifacts, dialog enhancer, component output (video), optical output (audio),

Weakness:

Manual assumes alot about user

I have used this player for two months and still cannot believe the high quality picture and sound this unit produces for the price ($315 at supremevideo.com). This is my first DVD Player so I have no comparisons, but judging by most of the other reviews, I did my homework well.

When playing audio CD's on this player, I noticed a distinct difference in the naturalness and linearity of the sound from my present CD Player (Sony CDP-C725).

All in all, this player has so many things going for it:
•Outstanding picture and sound quality,
•Easy set up,
•Multiple set up options,
•A great remote,
•Component video output ,
•Dolby and DTS decoders,
•Virtual Surround Sound (for those with only two Speakers),
•Dialog Enhancer,
•Etc...
•Did I mention outstanding picture and sound quality,
for such a great price, it truly is like getting champagne at beer prices.

This DVD Player is an OUTSTANDING VALUE! You will not be disappointed!

Strength:

Dolby Digital/DTS Decoders Built-In, Quick Loading, Picture and Sound Quality are outstanding

Weakness:

None so far

Picked this unit up in Florida for $249 brand new @ Brandsmart. Keep an eye out, some are store demo's. The player is easy to use, good remote, and plenty of features. More bang for the buck and no lip-sync problems. A great deal!!
