Strength:
Great surround sound. Silent tray. Picture quality is decent.
Weakness:
Picture quality is too bright. Depth of colors seems faded. Just bought the DVD player. Picture quailty is decent & sound quality is excellent. While playing the Matrix certain scenes seems to fade in and out. Similar Products Used: Pioneer DV333 |

Strength:
Lightweight, minimal noise, fast play and smooth scanning. Excellent remote (although not backlit)
Weakness:
A bit of flipping during Tommorrow Never Dies on first playback. Stopped DVD, reinserted and it hasn't happened since. I have been going stir crazy for a year trying to shop out the best deal on a player. I wasn't sure if I wanted (or needed) built-in decoders, progressive scan, etc... I finally asked a salesman about my concerns. I was educated in about 2 minutes. I found this unit at a boxing day sale for $298.99 Canadian. All they had was silver. It looks very nice in my a/v room. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Nice construction. Excellent picture - a bit soft perhaps but very little artifacting. Remote was better than expected - nice size and shape but with some buttons set in odd places.
Weakness:
No zoom. No 5 RCA jacks for DD sound - optical hookup only. Got this player on primarily the recommendations from this site. Thanks all! Similar Products Used: Apex AD703 (731?) |

Strength:
So far, it has played badly scratched CD's from Blockbuster with no troubles. Excellent picture quality, good sound. I have read bad things about the remote but I see no problems with it. Solid construction, strong brandname. Interesting sub woofer output. I plan to use this feature since my older receiver has no sub woofer output. I think Panasonic really thought the design out well for first time buyers and good flexibility for long term upgrades. Offers both s-video, digital optical, and componont output for future upgrades. Perfect machine for my purposes. easy on-screen menu and set-up.
Weakness:
Lack of zoom. Overall good, solid quality (Japanese-made, reasonable price). Hooked-up player sound through Technics receiver, Paradigm speakers, video directly into Sony Trinitron. |

Strength:
Great Picture, No problems so far, Works perfectly with all problem disks, Great Sound, Nicer remote than most
Weakness:
Not many hook ups (buy the dvdRV65 or 80 if you need them) I liked this player so much and the price that I got one for me and one for my brother. This is my first dvd player (after I took back the rca) and much research, and so far i'm very pleased with it...This is definitely the most bang for your buck. Strength:
picture and sound quality, price
Weakness:
no coax digital out, toslink only I am using this player in a two-channel audio system. If I planned to go into surround sound, I probably wouldn't have chosen it because it lacks a 24/96 coaxial output. I have it hooked to a 32" TV via the S-video connection.
