Strength:
Small size - DVD picture is progressive scan
Weakness:
Wisk it was black not silver - the remote is weak I am happy with the unit. I have zero space for both a DVD and VHS player in my HDTV cabinet - I can now keep the digital cable box, HDTV box, A/V receiver and the combo DVD/VCR unit all together. The combo unit is progressive scan (the firsr combo unit I know of to be progressive) the VCR is to allow my daughter to view Disney VHS tapes. I think the DVD picture is much better than my former Sony non progressive scan player. |

Strength:
Great IDEA to integrate DVD/VHS. MP3 Player. Commercial Advance (skip taped commercials)
Weakness:
Poor integration of DVD/VHS. Might as well get a seperate DVD Player and a VHS Player. MP3 ID Tags were not adequate. Priced around: $400 at local electronics store (chain) The target market for this product is for people that want seamless integration with VCR/DVD. Unfortunately this product does a horrible job of it. It operates like two different components in one "box". As my mom said, "forget it, I am getting my pocket TV...” For the hefty price it should include Dolby Digital 5.1. My cousin and I died laughing at the remote. It looks futurist with the name "Light tower" scripted on the bottom. When the user presses the "light" button, the remote only illuminates 3 buttons (53 buttons total). Below the illuminated buttons the VHS section (PLAY, FF, REW, and STOP) is dimly lit by 1 LED light "spill over". If you insist on still giving this product a try, I urge you to ask about the return policy of the store. |
