Strength:
fast,never skip dvds or vcds.
Weakness:
lil bigger in size. well i just read a review abt this dvd player(dv 233), i dont think its just a dvd player, it plays DTS,DOLBY DIGITAL 5.1 and all. sound quality is good aswell as picture quality. and i dont think its not good for a HT in any way. DV 233 is ok in price and worth to buy in this price. chao :) |

Strength:
Value for your money. Easy to set-up. After sales spare parts are not hard to find.
Weakness:
Black rendering is weak, tends to be reddish at low brightness levels. No standby indicator so you wouldn't know if its on this mode. No multi-channel output. Nothing fancy, but all the necessities are there (component video, optical outs). Colors are true except for black which is a little reddish. Similar Products Used: Nakamichi DvD-10 |

Strength:
It''s Pioneer, so picture quality is very good (for a non-Progressive DVD player). It''s worth the price. Easy to use remote. GUI (for setting it up) is quite ok. No problems in playing any DVD title.
Weakness:
It''s just an ordinary DVD player. It''s a multi-region DVD Player that has all your basic needs in a... DVD Player! =) Actually I didn''t buy this one, this came in free with the HT system (Pioneer VXD 859TXG) package that I bought. I was only able to use this model a few times when I brought it back to Manila during the christmas season. But so far, my sister (who''s the one using it now) and I don''t see anything to dislike about this player except that it''s simply "just" a DVD player. Anyway, if you are into serious HT setup, then this is not the player for you. But if you simply want to enjoy the picture quality of a DVD movie on your good old TV set (and probably a stereo), then this one will do. Anyway (again), even if you do get serious about setting up your own HT system, I think this one will do for a few months (while you gear up on buying a much much better DVD player).
