We are a TV Guardian Family. I have had several different combo units with TV Guardian already in it. They work great for a while (about a year) and then die. I bought most of them at Walmart and didn't spend that much so I figured you get what you pay for. Well then Wlamart stopped carrying any with TV Guardian and I went for an online hunt. I bought this RCA DRC6355N over a year ago, probably almost 2 years now (time flies when things are working). I am thankful to say it is still working. Yes it does get a considerable amount of use. Maybe I am just lucky. I haven't had such good luck with others. The one thing I must say against the unit is the remote. Just try finding the buttons to change something or even turn it off in the dark. The buttons are very small.
I also bought a TV Guardian Model 201 Box for our Livingroom since we had just purchased a new DVD player in there. I have gone through two of those in about the same time and now this one won't work and the Company doesn't even have a live Tech support phone number. It is disconnected.

I hope to find another RCA unit! This boggles my mind. You would think that families would be begging for these type of units. Hearing all that bad language absolutely ruins good stories. It's like getting hit in the face with a pail of cold water!
