let me see: IT DOESNT WORK! and on top of that it was designed not to work.

got it cheap with a rebate, only to find out that the reason i got it so cheap was because it doesnt work. no power after the 8th use. reseting the unit doesnt work. and the tech support doesnt even care that they sell people this crap, they dont want to help you but they do want to rip you off.

Unreliable. Noisy.

This unit died completely after 8 months. Note: warranty period is 3 months. This model has a very loud hum and gives off a noticeable vibration during normal play. This is annoying during quiet passages in movies. From now on, I will buy from a manufacturer who offers a 1-year warranty.

There seems to be a problem with the motor that spins the cd: RF-3200CH-12400 is the part #. To my surprise there are no replacement motors available, yeh. If you are having problems that is probably it. Sorry your SOL.

Many features. A child could use this product with no problems.

The main gripe I have about this product is that it will not accept CD-R's or CD-RW's. I like to make compilations of my cd's, and since it is connected to my surround sound system, it would be nice to be able to listen to them on it. Not much of a weakness, more of an annoyance really.

I have read most of the other reviews, and found, to my surprise, that a lot of other people have had a problem with this model. I have had this DVD player since product introduction in 2000. I have only had one problem with it. Someone left the DVD tray in the open posistion overnight, and it would not shut off. Simply unplugging the the unit for 30 seconds solved this problem. I have never had a need to call RCA or contact them via the web. One thing to note though, is this unit does get hot. By simply keeping it in a ventilated area, and stacking no other electronic equipment on top of it, you should encounter no problems at all. This I find to be the case with a lot of modern electronic devices. Heat is the enemy! Keep your equipment in ventilated area's and you should not ever have a problem with them.

I purchased this unit and I have to concur with all the other reviews. It is by far the biggest piece of junk and the biggest waste of money. I worked for exactly 9 months. The problem was that I purchased it as a factory refurbished unit, what a waste of money. I even paid someone to try to fix it and the money went down the drain.

this RCA DVD player is a piece of junk.....I bought one and it didnt work after only 9 months....took it back and got a new one this time it stopped working after 14 months and no longer a warranty....RCA gave me a code to reset the original setting but didnt work.....but its hold the back button and power button maybe this will work for you if you have it if not sorry you have a useless paper weight.

Used product for a year and a half. Worked fine yesterday, until I shut it of after watching a movie, about an hour later I went to turn it back on and no power at all to the unit. I have tried multiple known to be good outlets and power cords to no avail.

poor power supply design. multiple failures of this unit and no available way to fix it for do it yourselfers.

Unit worked find the ten times I used it. One day, it would not come on. No fuse blown, just dead. Contacted customer support to find that no parts list or schematic exists. This is basically a throw away unit. New unit cost is about $100 and I refuse to pay that for a refurbished unit.

I've had this DVD player for a little over 2 years and only used it 15-20 times. We watched a movie the other night, shut it off when done, began watching TV, and the thing blew up! Started sparking, would have started a fire had we not been there to notice. My warranty is up, but they still want me to pay $80 to replace this piece of crap. This is obviously a matter of faulty workmanship or cheap parts and they won't admit it. I will be calling to give them this website and other websites like it for reviews so they can see there is a problem and MAYBE do something about it because any unit that could cause a fire should be recalled!
