easy hook up, low price, good value for the money (in my opinion) works great with Aiwa home theater system

little slow on some movies, sometime hangs up if dvd isn't perfectly clean

I bought this for under $200.00. Not a bad deal for what i paid, sometimes hangs up if the DVD is not perfectly clean. The sound quality is amazing. I never knew there was so much difference between DVD and VHS. VHS is now collecting dust. No major problems as of yet but as anyone knows Sharp isn't know for sturdy composition. A remote that's visible in the dark would defintely be an improvement.

This is my first DVD, and I was very happy with the video and audio processing on the unit. There is no DVD in this range of price with a built in decoder. For those with AC3 ready receivers this is a perfect fit.. I watched the MATRIX without any frames dropped ... I have had slight frame delays on rentals only on poor DVD conditions (ie scratched)but all DVD's bought and in good clean shape run smoothly.
The Access time loading a DVD is slow however easily over looked with performance and price!

Good price but not the best choice . All of my friends
use Pioneer and without any problem .

I purchased this without viewing alot of machines. I based my decision on value. Without a doubt this machine offers the most value, features / Price. I have been more than happy with this units performance and picture/sound quality. I have not yet noticed the pausing that others have mentioned. I would recommend this machine to anyone looking for a low priced high value DVD player. I will rate it 4 stars, for I am sure there is better out there.
