Casual Listener
Strength:
Good set of features. Good sound and video quality. 2 RCA jack style audio output allows TV and Stereo connections simultaneously.
Weakness:
No title for MP3 CDs, no user defined genre, clumsy remote, bad manual. Lots of features, includeing CD-RW, MP3, VCD, PAL VCD (haven't tested with PAL DVDs). However, +1 in 300+1 is a joke. It should be called 301 DVD changer. Usability wise, it gets 0 mark. My 1998 Fisher 60 CD changer which I purchased for $99 has better usability features. I can't assign title to MP3 CDs. Genres are pre-defined (cannot create my own). I listen foreign music and they don't fall into pre-defined genres. Editing is really hard. Exploration is hard too. Remote is clumsy and manual... oh God... they do need some tech writers! Still keeping the player because of features like progressive scan, 301 DVD changer, MP3, .... etc. Similar Products Used: Fisher, Philips, Optimus |

Strength:
300 +1 capability, nice feature set. Audio and video is good as to be expected.
Weakness:
Disc navigation is not nearly as straightforward or refined as CD changers. Player hesitates in moving carousel spin and direction. On-Screen menuing system is clumsy and needs more memory (or at least an option) to make screen shots visible and clear. As used screen shots are so small, they are almost useless. Navigation is clumsy and it could stand improvement. I expected a lot from this product and it gave me most of what I was looking for, but not quite. It looks like it was missing about 3 months of time to rush it to market. Similar Products Used: Many other DVD players. |
