Strength:

Not a bad price.Detail and depth with CD's, holds 5 disks Plenty of adjustments for DVD audio Easy to figure out

Weakness:

With well recorded CDs excellent but sometimes a tad bright.

Bought as demo unit. Nice silver faceplate with excellent blue readout. Good looking, solid unit.Used for mainly CD playback but also for movies and SACD playback. CD playback added depth and detail that was fantastic.Compared to my old sony CD player the NS 555ES was far superior, more dynamic and coherent. On movies I had trouble at first. Although detail was there everything seemed dark. After adjusting levels I found the image improved and was much better. On SACD playback the Sony proved to be smooth and very musical, only tried two different SACD disks so my listening experience is limited with SACD.
