Strength:

Weakness:

It's all weak.

What a piece of junk! It skips with both vidoe and audio formats. Don't even think about it or any Sony digital products. If you do, you'll be sorry.

Strength:

The picture and sound in two channel is truly amazing. The transport drawer is super quiet, remote is great as well. The sound is very fast, toe taping type, but...SEE WEAKNESSES

Weakness:

I wanted to know how is this as a CD player, I listen to it long and hard, at first, I found it to be very musical and exciting sounding, but then I realized that it is very fatigue sounding player, but if you keep the volume at about 9 O'clock position, you are ok, the sound is very engaging, but if you turn it up a little more, it will give you alot of detail from you cds, but you will find that after one song, you want to turn the volume control way down or turn it off, and you will get a sense of reliefe. I have played it for about 4 days non-stop thinking may be it will improve a bit, and it did, but I think I will play my cds on my cd player

The price paid is in CND $. This is a very light weight DVD player, I was not sure if this will beat my older Pioneer DVD player. I brought it home, plugged it in, connected it with MITerminator 5 interconnect, feeding into a YBA Integre DT, video monitor is a SOny as well, a Trinitron 36FS100. The moment put a movie in it(James Bond Die Another Day), right away, I noticed that this is the best picture I have seen, and the sound was very impressive as well, very open, and fast. So I feel that it is a great DVD player, one of the best, I would say regardless of price, their competetors must be wondering as to how could they make a player like that for so little money?

Strength:

$89,digital audio out

Weakness:

wierd icons

First, it did not lok very good through a rf modulator to an old school tv.So I got a new 27" Toshiba for a very reasonable 250 bucks. And wow what a differance.Any average person would be very happy with this set-up for the money spent. Now for something completely different. The sound is better than my old 600 dollar Adcom GDA 600.Ok,I got it on Ebay cheep. It got a new laser and alot of work on the tracking, thought it sounded great. I'm using an Audio Alchemy v2.0 and an Adcom GDA 600.So I ran the Sony dvd through same.To my shock it sounds better. And it plays cd-r's where the Adcom won't.Movie soundtracks sound amazing in 2 track Dolby.People look around for surround speakers.

Strength:

Price Plays all formats Thin design fits onto tight cabinets

Weakness:

No progressive scan for Video Not a audiophile CD player

I purchased this for the audio system in my office. I use this for Audio only. I bought this instead of a CD player because the specs (115 db S/N ratio) were better than any CD players in this price range. It sounded harsh at first but smoothed out after a week of continuous play. This is not a audiophile CD player but the sound is exceptional for the money. The quality seems to be typical Sony but this player feels pretty light. It won't take alot of abuse but the tranport feels solid. Overall, I give it four stars overall because the sound is not audiophile quality, but five stars ( at least ) for value.

Strength:

The reason I bought it is because the specs say it handle the different +-R/W formats, the style is good, the sony remote is easily compatable with my Sony TV. oh yes, the price is right on (at $85)

Weakness:

The only con's right now is that it does not have a Zoom feature.

The Sony NS325 is a good basic DVD player. I don't need anything fancy and this matched my needs and budget.
