Strength:

paper weight

Weakness:

how about....it doesn''t play dvds or cds.

I''ve had this "DVD/CD" player for jsut over a year. I''ve watched/listened to at the most 30 discs. Then all the sudden it decided that there was "no disc". What a piece of junk. That''s the last thing I buy from Sony

Similar Products Used:

friends Toshiba which has logged at least 100 disc worth of time and has never had a hiccup

"SONY RECALL PETITION" I am writing this message about my dvp-s360 and its vast problems, this applies to the sony dvp-s560 as well...as i have read we are all in the same boat which is why i have organized a group to do something about it, i want everyone to send me an email about their problem and contact info, just an email address or your name, redundancy is very effective, so if you think others have already written you still should definitely write...HERE IS THE EMAIL ADDRESS SONYRECALL@hotmail.com ...this address has been made to compile all the statements of each and everyone of you...enclose a contact address, or i will use the email address you send to me...i will compile all the emails about your problems with the dvp-s360/dvp-s560 and i am going to make a case out of this...all of these emails will be directly sent via registered mail to sony''''s front office and we are definitely going to see results, i''''ll see to it...let''''s get these emails sent quickly so we can get this problem fixed asap...we can do it...send your name too and/or anything else you think will make OUR case stronger...thanks...somehow, everyone''''s sony dvd players are resulting in c 13:00 and NO disc errors at around the same time...this is not by chance. Something must be done, let''''s get together and make this work. Thanks. SPREAD THE WORD!!! TELL ANYONE AND EVERYONE

Strength:

Great for the short time it worked.

Weakness:

Having to Buy a new one every year.

I''m getting the same problem as everyone. I''ve had the player over a year but it only has 52 hours worth of DVD play on it. Since I started buying equipment everything has been Sony. Not any more. If they won''t stand by their product then I won''t stand by them. I guess I have a cool looking CD player now. Of course that will probably go soon enough.

This is my first DVD player. Bought a cheap KLH player shortly after this one for a bedroom and have had no problems with it.

Add me to the list for the class action suit - I have had the same problems as everyone else. Started out with the jumping and skipping on DVDs, then the occasional C:13:00 error, and now I just get the NO DISC message for any disc that I put in. I tried working with customer support, but all that they could do was tell me to take it in for service - and the it would be $50 just to look at the player, plus and charges to fix it. What a piece of crap!

Same errors as everyone else, NO DISK, C:13, etc. This player is the biggest POS! After paying the $25 to Best Buy for repair, it was determined to be a logic board failure. Price for replacement part: $450 Service: $150 Total cost for repair: $600. $600 repair for a $350 player. Need I say more???

Same problem as others. Worked fine until 1 week ago. Got the C:13 error. Then one week later, now have the NO DISC error. For those that haven''t had it yet, there was no warning. It worked fine until last week. Sony should take care of this.

I have had the "No Disk" and c:13 problem with my unit, to the point that it wouldnt recognize ANY disks at all. I would be interested in purchasing another faulty unit from someone and trying to use it for parts to get mine working again. Why not, it might be fun... SO, if anyone would be willing to get rid of theirs CHEAP, let me know: dtmiller28@hotmail.com Meanwhile, lets get this lawsuit going.
