5.1 reproduction is not smooth as expected even after changing the speaker settings. Therefore u need a DTS AMP or receiver to get a clearer sound.

I bought it as it was available from a local supermarket with a considerable discount using fidelity card.
I've never used other DVD players but I can say I'm really happy with this model.
Software is easy to use and full of options to set everything from audio to decode rate and so on.
As I'm looking to Sony STR-DB840 as AV receiver, I appreciate the optical out and the 5.1 out.
It's small and fast, with no visible loss in quality nor artifacts (on blue it's great).
