Excellent quality player at a very low price. Also, plays DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW, CD-R, CD-RW. A DVD burner and DV camcorder is all you need to make digital home movies.

Does not play DivX (MPEG 4). Will probably upgrade to one of the LiteOn DVD players or equivalent in a couple of years.

This player is awesome. I bought it as a cheap player to tide me over until I could afford a better one. That was at least 2 years ago. I have been so happy with this player that I have no plans on replacing it in the near future. I did not see this particular model for sale at the usal online sources I use. The model does have some age to it now. They are listed on EBay for almost nothing. I would not hesitate to buy a used unit for a spare room or college use. Once I finally upgrade to a newer model I'll put this one in my study to use there and free up my PC for other things while I'm watching something. It's another great product from Sony.

2nd review--i guess judging by the low grades that this cheap player cant be any good because it doesnt cost 400.00 lol many friends and neighbors bought this model and are tickled--go buy the 400.00 model if it makes you feel better --lololool

ill tell ya lol my daughters using this for about 20 hrs a week--ive watched it myself from time to time--every bit as good as my 300.00 model sony- lol cant believe this thing just keeps going and going and going--gonna get one when i need one--cant beat it--a war horse destined to be one of sonys best at any price ill bet
