Weakness:
Picture, price/value I only kept this dvd player for a few days because of Best Buy's 30 day return policy. The biggest problem was the picture it produced, particularly with bright colors. It appeared very grainy and was noticeable particularly when there was one bright object on the screen with the rest of the background being dull or dim. I don't think it was the cables because I was using monster component cables; and I don't think it was the tv, which is a sony HDTV. It was set on progressive scan and I just couldn't get the grainy-ness to go away. The dvd player does have an HDMI hookup which I didn't try, but from everything I've read there doesn't seem to be any difference in picture quality between component cables and HDMI. I've also read a few other reviews of this product on other sites of people who experienced technical problems with it, however I didn't experience any. If you want to give this dvd player a try I would recommend buying it from a local store which has a return policy in case you aren't happy with it, I wouldn't recommend buying it over the internet because of the hassle in trying to get a refund. On a scale of 1-10 I would give this dvd player a 5 on picture quality and 3 on price/value. Sound was impressive on this dvd player, but I ran it through the optical output and into a surround sound system, so I'm not sure how much of the sound was the dvd player and how much was the speakers.
