Strength:

Good looks. Great sound. Superb value for the money.

Weakness:

The remote-control could use a major design upgrade. Some of the most commonly used controls like the Menu and Action buttons are concealed under the flip-cover on the lower half of the remote. The display on the front of the unit is small and cannot be seen clearly across the room. And the CD/ DVD changer makes a cheap mechanical sound when you change CDs or DVDs.

This is one handsome, compact and powerful unit. The speakers are so small and discreet, they almost disappear into the room (unless the room's painted black. Or purple!) It combines a CD player, DVD player, an AM/ FM tuner and a receiver into a space-saving design. All you need to complete the home-theater is a tape-deck (available for about $70 to $100 anywhere). The 240 watts of sound is quite adequate for an average to above-average sized room. The hook-up is simple and the remote control is not overwhelming either. Considering that you can load upto 5 CDs or DVDs at the same time, the price is really unbeatable. Similarly priced products from makers like Sony and JVC take in only one DVD/ CD at a time. The quality of picture and sound is outstanding, although I could not detect any change in the picture quality when using the S-Video output as opposed to the regular video output.
The remote control unit could be a bit more user-friendly. And if Panasonic could somehow mute or alter the mechanical sound that this unit produces when changing CDs/ DVDs, this would be the ultimate home-theater system for the budget-minded person with an average-sized room.
Overall, a great buy. I highly recommend this surprising winner from Panasonic.

Strength:

A good value product

Weakness:

cannot play cdr, slow and noisy cd changing, cannot play when changing cd

This may be the best in this price range. For in spite of all the weaknesses I have listed above, I cannot find a better product for the same dollar range.
