Very small box, excellent design. Boxes are small, but sounds is OK compared to the size. DVD playback ***VERY*** good! Scart is not here, but S-VHS plug (or digital) instead which gives far better quality, not a weakness, but a strength! Display is beautiful to look at.

No MP3 playback. Clock is not in 24h notation and not synchronized by RDS. Display in full daylight not very bright.

This is a 'nice to have!' Price/quality is VERY!!! good

I've used the Onkyo LSV-900. The Onkyo is machine from hell in comparison to this fine machine.

poor cd audio quality

This machine rocks for movies, especially in DTS mode. The sound is great in a small to medium sized room. The cd audio, however, is terrible. I am going to try an upgrade to some considerably better speakers. Sub is adequate but distorts at moderate volumes when introduced to complicated busy music (rock, jazz). All in all an excellant value for the money. Has some the a most advanced options I have seen compared to its competitors.

After 2 years i decided to replace my JBL ESC 550 Pro Logic system for something new.I personally prefer full size audio components,but my wife doesn't like those big speakers etc.So I search,again,for a small sized,all-in-one system,but only this time with Dolby Digital and DVD onboard.After reading a lot on the net,I've decided to order the Pioneer set cause most reviews and reviewers were most positive about this product.
After installing the set,first thing I tested was the tuner and audio-cd.Mmmm,not too good.Sounds really "flat" and not so natural.Ok,it's a home cinema set,so let's try DVD.Had to change the bass to -3 instead of +1,but even than the bass is totally screwed up!No deep bass what so ever,it just sounds like a cheap Yoko system to me.Guess I was to much attached to my JBL.
