Software in this unit is not as good as my old receiver from 1999. - Guide is not color coded. My old unit would show sports in green, movies in purple. - No channel lists. You only have one list. - Hidden channels show back up when Direct TV wants you to see them. - When you set guide to view by catagory, all channels are included, even ones not in the channel list or that you subscribe to. Once you select a channel, the guide requires you to select catagory again if you want find a different movie. - On my old unit if you wanted to select a time in the future program you only had to hit select. On this unit you hit enter, left arrow to select timmer from the menu. Too many steps. |

Strength:
clear picture fast tuning of sd pics nice easy to use menu system
Weakness:
no OTA signal strength unless you subscribe to Direct TV then you can get the upgraded software which will allow OTA signal strength. Remote needs buttons arranged in a better configuration and should be back lit. Picture quality is better than I have had with my other 3 HDTV tuners including the one that is in my Mitsubishi.
