Mitsubishi HS U795 S VCRs

Mitsubishi HS U795 S VCRs

DESCRIPTION

The HS-U795 VCR can now move a T-120 tape at 450 times its EP mode play speed-from end to end in about 48 seconds! And they do it so quietly it's barely audible. Mitsubishi's line of VCRs has three S-VHS models, providing finer picture resolution at affordable prices. They all have the ability to record S-VHS pictures even on ordinary VHS tape, which means both convenience.

Strength:

Playback and recording quality. Plays tapes made from other vcr's, with remarkable clarity. I have had this vcr for over two years and I have not had any problems.

Weakness:

none

I have had the mitsubishi u795 for over two years and it is simply the best vcr! I have tried the toshiba 808 (records great, but washes out he color), jvc u7800 (plays great, but does not record as well as the mitsubishi), sony slv-99 (playback is somewhat grainy, but it records very well), but the mitsubishi beats them all. The picture and recording quality is excellent and it will play most other tapes made from another vcr, just fine. Also, it is very durable and easy to program.

I am sorry to see that no one else has posted a review of this VCR. This VCR has been on the market for over 2 years now and is the best SVHS under $700. I had a Sony VCR for 8 years that broke and needed a replacment. I wanted to get a SVHS VCR since my cable box and TV both have the S-Video connectors. I looked at 6 SVHS and standard VHS systems. This one was the best for overall performace and quality. This VCR was about $500 when it was introduced 2 years back, but was able to find one at a local dealer in-box for $230 since it has been discontined to make room for a new DVHS VCR later this year for $600.

If you cannot find anyone with a HS-U795, then I would recomend the HS-U776. There are only a few minor difference that would not matter to most people. I would of bought the 776 if I was not able to find the 795.
