Strength:
Easy to use, plays tapes other VCRs cannot read, Hi-Fi stereo output, user-friendly timer
Weakness:
short warranty period (3 months), my model has some bugs, such as a tape door that fails to close upon removal of a tape, dead front A/V connectors, and nonfunctioning SAP system. All in all, a good product, but make sure it works right before the 3-month warranty expires. The bugs do not seriously interfere with the use and enjoyment of the unit- I seldom notice them. This is a good unit for a casual listener, but probably inadequate for the serious home theater enthusiast. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
cheap
Weakness:
cheap It is now going on a month and a half and the damn thing is still in the repair shop. I am being told that the parts are on back order because so many people have had the same problem with the tape ejection mechanism. Appearently they are trying to decide if the parts should be redesigned. |

I would not recommend you purchase this product. After 4 months the tape would not eject. This made me realize how poor Philip's warrenty policy is. On vcr's 90 days labor, 1 year parts, but you have to drop it off at the service center and sit at home waiting for the call that it is finished and to bring your check book. Mean while the store I purchased it from and Philips have my money for a product that does not function properly after only 4 months. |
