Strength:
Super Sharp Picture certainly an asset. Remote's easy to use and very handy when controlling all theree elements -- VCR, TV, and cable box. Zero back feature and commercial skip on recorded tapes a great boon. The stereo audio output is superb. With a decent stereo TV, you don't need to be hooked up to a home-theatre system. Sound reproduction is awesome. Menu also easy to use.
Weakness:
Recorded picture tends to be leaky with intense colours. Apart from the usual generic problem of the colour red on video, saturated colours sometimes tend to run on this machine. Problem is usually resolved by slightly reducing colour on TV screen. Excellent value for money. Paid $189 (Canadian) for this model from Brick. Great features, handy remote and sturdy disposition. Have played three tapes in a row without machine heating up. The four-head system can handle well-worn chewed-up tapes. It's great if you're looking for an inexpensive VCR with great features. Strength:
Fast Forward and Rewind speeds, Universal Remote, Onscreen programing
Weakness:
Strange rewind bug (though nothing major) The VCR is great for the price. It's onscreen menu is intuitive and useful, has a functional universal remote, high speed forward and rewind are great. The only problem is a slight bug when you try to rewind while playing. It fast forwards for a second, then stops, then rewinds. You get used to it, but at first you will keep thinking you hit the wrong button. |

Strength:
High speed rewind and fast forward
Weakness:
none for the price Great for the price. This has been a real solid Hi Fi stereo VCR. There is no point in spending lots of money on a VCR with DVD players getting so cheap. This does everything you need it to do. I would recommend this to anyone who wants VHS surround sound without spending a lot of money. I can’t see a reason to ever replace this thing. I haven't compared this to many VCR's, but for the money, I think it's great. Only $120 costco. When I am watching TV through the VCR, the sound and picture quality actually improve. I sometimes get wavy lines through the screen, I am not sure why, or if this is interference of some sort, but otherwise this a great VCR. 5 stars for value, but 4 stars overall because of the occasianal wavy lines. |

Strength:
It is inexpensive for a hifi VCR and comes with a nice remote.
Weakness:
Controls for fast foward and rewind on unit are hard to use. While there are better hifi VCRs out there, I doubt you can find one at this price. I'd say it's worth 4 stars easy, given it's low price and decent picture. Has a few nice features like the ability to turn off the blue screen if you so desire. It's lasted me several years without trouble. Similar Products Used: Panasonic Toshiba |

Strength:
great picture, sound, fast rewind
Weakness:
weak motor causes some tapes to stop playing great for the price. the super sharp feature really improves the picture quality. dont know if i got a bad one or not, but there are a few tapes that keep pausing seemingly because they are too tight or something, so i will remove a few points, but 90% of movies play great. aside from that, excellent vcr.
