I am a grown up, so this is obviously not a hi fi system that I take seriously! I did however buy it to go on my desktop, and is basically serving the purpose as a headphone amplifier and clock.

The sound with it's included speakers is disgusting. It's hollow, shallow and lacking any detail of any description whatsoever. However, it has reasonable sound quality output... it's the speakers that let it down terribly. With my headphones, the sound is as good as any typical high street hi-fi...not breathtaking in any respect.

It however is good enough for the desktop. It looks stunning, but is only plasticy to the touch. It's simple to use too, and includes a remote control.

The graphic equaliser has 3 presets and off. Rock makes the graphic into a "Check/Tick" shape...so high bass levels, low midrange and medium treble level. Pop is an inverted U shape, so it has WAY too much midrange and sounds like your listening through a sewer, and Jazz is a V shape...it's the one I like best.

It has a 3 level bass enhance thing called "T-Bass". It adds a little extra bass, but it's a kind of weak.

Q-Sound seems only to serve the music with a weird hollow-enhancing sound.

All of my opinions about the sound quality above are based on listening to the system on my (£200) headphones, so it's about as good as this system gets. However, with the supplied speakers it ALL sounds absolutely crap, and there's not much difference between any of the settings.

In summary.... it's a nice ornament for the desk, and makes a good clock and gives you somewhere handy to stick your headphones into. Good radio reception in FM. Watch out when you are pre-setting the radio stations though! it doesn't tell you in the manual how to delete or change presets afterwards... You need to press CLEAR, then SET (within 4 seconds of each other).

As a sound system intended to be used with the speakers... in my opinion it sounds like a gramophone, but it's important that YOU hear it yourself.
